I was wondering how everyone felt about the gathered (dress w/ pick ups)or a-line wedding gown. I tried on a bunch of gowns this weekend and I really really like the gathered look, but no one else I know seems to. I am torn!!

I personally like the A-line, but it depends on the bride's personal preference as well as their body frame and type...

I think the gathered look is beautul. You have to wear what you love and if that is what you want you should get it. Don't second guess it. No matter what, everyone is going to have opinions and in the end its yours which matters.

I couldn't have said it better myself!! Go with whatever you love. If you love the style of the dress - I truly believe it will show in your face and your smile all day!

I'm not a big fan of the gathered or the pick up look. I think the A-Line style flatters almost everyone though.

I think the gathered look is beautiful. The important thing is that YOU be happy with the dress you choose. Don't worry if anyone else loves it, as long as you love it

I think it really depends on the person wearing the dress. Once you start looking and trying them on, you will know which one you feel more comfortable in. I would suggest not ruling out anything though, try on both styles and you might be surprised on what you turn out getting.

I love the gathered look. Try them both on and take pictures. WHen you get home look at the pictures and compare them. You may look better in one style and pictures will help you determine this.

I didn't think I would ever like the gathered/pick-up look for me, but I tried on a dress and I loved it... so I ordered it. I think it's beautiful, and it's whatever you like best and whatever you feel most comfortable & beautiful in!

I love the gathered/pick up look. I tried a few on and it does not really suit my body. My dress is a full A-Line.

I personally do not like the gathered look on me. But it is a style that I think doesn't fit everyone. If you Love it and love it on, then go for it! It is your dress and your day! Wear what you love and are comfortable in!

i like the gatheres look. I have seen many dresses like that and have tried 1 on. It wasn't what I was looking for but I still like the dresses

That's the way I felt, but I went ot Illette's on saturday and she kept giving me gathered dresses because she said I have a good body for them. And I fell in love with a Maggie but my MOH and my mom both like me the best in a simple A-line I tried on.

I love both styles the Pick up and A-line dresses its a matter of what flatters your body type.
Monique Lhullier makes beautiful dresses with the pick-ups.

I tried on this justin alexander dress....I didnt like this one personally but I love the gathered/pick up dresses too...I posted some pics of the dress that i found on friday and alot of people commented on the pick ups...some people dont personally like it where others do....I keep contemplating about it too...trust me...check out my post about the two dresses...one was a-line and the other with pick ups.....my favorite was the pick ups too...I say go with your heart and if you really love it...then get it...I am going with the pick ups i think because that is what I want and i dont want to regret not getting a dress that I love....definitely see if you can take some pics.....check out my post on the dresses i tried on this past friday... HTH
