The first dress is the one I went to put a deposit on (but in white of course) , the second one made my mom cry!! So different then what I picutred myself in but I fell in love. Totally different styles!!

Great idea for a thread! I thought I wanted this simple dress with a beaded sash. But realized once i tried it on that sweatheart neckline dresses weren't for me, and the dress was abit plain. Then I opted for the dress with the flower on the side. That looks better on me. :D

I don't have a pic of exactly what I wanted, but something along these lines - big satin ballgown, wide straps with a deep v-neck, relatively elaborate with beading and embroidery. I NEVER thought I'd like lace, and I was set against going strapless.
But then I slowly realized that I didn't like trains, that wide straps are hard to find, and that big satin ballgowns are HEAVY, and I found my dress and fell absolutely in love with it. It's nothing I thought I wanted, but it is so ME.

Woo hoo! I can reply on this one now because I had a gown that I thought I wanted, but with 18 days before my wedding, I got the gown that I'm in love with Here's the 1st dress I thought I wanted vs. the new dress I got! I think I made a great choice!

OK...here is my story: LONGGGG!! Lol I purchased a wedding dress from a salon in Queens, who I will name since they closed down (hopefully for good!). The salon was Brava Botique on Austin street in Forest Hills. I purchased a Casblanca gown for an awesome price of $600 and a headpiece that matched perfectly for $125, and I was in LOVE with it. When the gown came in they called me right away and wanted me to come see it (although my wedding was over a year away) I agreed that I would come see it but not have a fitting b/c that is just nuts. I show up and they have my dress in a garment bag right by the register and tell me that I have to pay the balance and take it home b/c they were closing for renovation and will re-open in 6 weeks. I asked if I could bring it back when they re-open so I don't have to carry it back and forth between fitting. They agreed. I take it home and decided to model it for my parents and the dress fit but was really tight on my breasts. I was not so worried because I figured they could do something....Well, to make an already long story short...they NEVER re-opened. I was so crushed that I actually started to hate the dress and started looking for another. I tried on a Maggie 'Grace' and fell in love all over again! This was the real 'one' As bad as the previous situation was, I was happy it happened b/c this was the perfect dress for me! The first dress was the origianal gown (which I still have) the second was 'the one'

The first dress I LOVE and when I found it online I thought it was the one, but when I went to try it on, I hated it. It did nothing for me, and didnt look right on me. So the second dress is the one I ordered!
ETA - Ok the first dress that I thought I wanted won't upload. But it was the Maggie Sottero Felicity. So this is just the dress that I ordered

Can't see the pics. That is so funny b/c mine was the exact opposite! Lol. I started with a Casablanca and ended up with a Maggie! lol
