Dress you THOUGHT you wanted vs. dress you got

Has this been done before? Post the dress you thought you wanted before you went looking and then the dress you actually did get.

Woo hoo! I can reply on this one now because I had a gown that I thought I wanted, but with 18 days before my wedding, I got the gown that I'm in love with Here's the 1st dress I thought I wanted vs. the new dress I got! I think I made a great choice!


I remember reading your post about your dress dilema... so glad you went with the second choice.... looks so great on you!!!

I wanted green in my dress but had a hard time finding it. I knew I wanted color in the dress though.

I saw this dress and tried it on and loved it (can't link to pic because David's doesn't allow it)

Dress 1

Then my mother found this dress and I loved it even more:

So I bought it.

A month before the wedding, 'AJSBABYGIRL' posted a dress that was exactly, EXACTLY what I had been looking for:





The dress accents are available in 46 colors, including 7 different shades of green.

But it was less than 1 month before the wedding, and I just couldn't change the dress at that point. I was totally bummed.

But I got over it.

Don't have a pic, but I absolutely SWORE I would not wear a strapless gown...(worried about my arms looking fat, etc and it would be simple......Guess what I got...a beautiful strapless gown with all the shimmer and glitz of a real 'princess' gown and I am SO happy I did!

Sorry for the blurry pic...also this gown is a sample that was 4 sizes too small on me...


that was one of the first dresses i tried on!!! i loved it.

I wanted simple elegant, classic....got big puffy princess (got caught up in the moment i guess) lol


I saw your dress on a friend that got married recently.. and it's GORGOUES on!!!!!

I tried on the last dress... LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE IT! I could've walked out with a dress that day if I could!

You know I NEVER got that dress!!! It looked terrible on me but I got another one with red in it! LOL
