I got mine at David;s Bridal for $399.

But also try RK Bridal. Most of the dresses I tried on there were under 1000.

Mine is a Mori Lee dress. it was listed under Quince dresses but I fell in love with it. It was $450, not including tax.

Bay Shore Bridal Suite
Sukran's in Westport, CT

Most stores will have dresses under $1,000, you just have to tell them that's what you're looking for. As someone said above, Maggie Sottero dresses are usually around $800.

Re: Dresses

DO NOT GO TO DAVID'S BRIDAL
I did get my dress there for about $599....
but they have the worst staff ever!
Last night I ended up canceling all of my orders for my bridesmaid dresses & and I would have for my gown as well but I all ready have it at home & paid a great price...

I went in Feb. to pick out bridesmaid dresses & asked if I could place an order - the lovely sales associate said that the 'separates collection' NEVER gets discontinued so I should order 12 weeks before my wedding not now (in Feb.).

My wedding is now 20 weeks away and 2 of my girls went to place the order last night and they were told that they could not order the skirt portion of the outfit b/c it was no longer being made.
I went there myself to figure it out b/c 2 of my other girls all ready have their dresses at their house in Baton Rouge, LA so I could not switch the skirt at this point.

When asked why a Sales Associate would tell me that the 'separates collection' NEVER gets discontinued she replied 'They do not get discontinued - we lower the prices and then we don't make them anymore'

After an hour of trying to figure something out I finally decided that I can find the remaining skirts needed at another store - not David's Bridal. Davids Bridal was willing to give me phone numbers of different stores that might have the skirt in stock - but not willing to call and I would have to pay $15 per skirt to be shipped and there was no guarentee that the skirts would be in good condition since they are off the rack!!!

This was my first and only BRIDEZILLA experience so far...

Please tell anyone considering using David's Bridal about this so another bride does not have to deal with their LOVELY sales staff....

I had many other issues with my bridal gown but I have vented to much for one day as it is.

I believe that Lillette's in Baldwin have some less expensive dresses, definately check them out, they're awesome!

I know that Burtons ( i think thats how you spell it) on Melville has good prices ...although I ordered my dress thru Fantasia's bridal center with burtons price... they matched it for me. I BELEIVE that most shops will try to match or beat competitors prices.

I got my dress here as well. Everything was roses until the fittings started and then it was an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE. If you are going to buy a dress from them, see Patty.. she is wonderful. But, DO NOT have your alterations done there. My sister had to go back about 5 times, once when she got there her dress was not even ready and on the day of the wedding.... getting into the limo...... her hem was coming undone..... terrible work, nightmare to deal with on alterations.... and they charge a fortune..... My hem and darts were $200 (my cap amazingly).....

Thanks ladies. Sorry for those of you who had a bad experience. I hope I don't have one because I can be bad, don't want to go to jail for hurting anyone.
