Dresses

Has everyone gotten their dresses yet? I'm planning on waiting till Feb/March 2010. Am I crazy for waiting?

Re: Dresses

some designers can take up to 9 mths to come in so i would start sooner than that just in case.

Re: Dresses

I would start before the new year if I was you. It depends on where you plan on going and what designer you are going to get.

I plan on ordering my dress about a year in advance.

Re: Dresses

I think a year to 9 months prior is the best. some designers take longer, others faster. it all depends, u just dont want to be all on needles to get ur dress on time and there is always the alterations. so I would start if I was u around Oct

Re: Dresses

yup i already got mine!!! i would start looking earlier, you dont necessarily have to order right away, but you never know, you may have a difficult time finding the one, and you dont wanna be scrambling at the end

I agree with the girls-

Depending on the designer a dress can take up to a year to come in. I will definitely try and order this year to give yourself time just in case.

DATE TWIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wooo Hooooo!!!

I started shopping and I'm ready to pull the hair OUT of my head! I am taking a month off (because if I see another dress, I might throw a HUGE fit) and then I'm going back mid August to look at the first place I went to and then maybe a couple other stores. I hope to have something chosen/ordered by September/October of this year.

Yes I got my dress I gave myself a year, as recommended.

I've had my dress since January. But I found it on my first try and I knew it was the one. I think you should at least research what styles you like but you still have lots of time.

Re: Dresses

I found my dress in a magazine about 3 years ago. It's by Demetrios. They probably don't have it anymore, so either I will have to find another one or get one made.

Re: Dresses

i plan on going in a couple of weeks. (so i guess about 10 months away from my wedding). this is also because my mother has made me wait until august

Re: Dresses

I am getting married 1 week before you and I am starting to look in August. It can take between 9 mo and a year for the dress to come in and you need time for alterations, etc.

Also keep in mind that while there are some lucky girls who find the dress right away, some do not. I am going to assume it will take quite a few tries to get it right and i do not want to be rushed.

Re: Dresses

I'm going tomorrow!

I was going to wait longer, but my aunt pointed out that if it takes me a month or two to find a dress, that will be at the 10 month point (which is when they say you should order it at the latest). So I'm starting early.

I would start a little earlier. You don't want to start in March, but not find something you love right away and then be stuck!
