Haven't even started the process of looking yet. I did a little browsing online and plucked some pictures of what I would like but still haven't gone. I hear that you need at least 6 months prior to order, size, etc. I don't really have a budget but am hoping I can find something I fall in love with for a fairly cheap price! We shall see..

I plan on looking at the beginning of March. My engagement party is going to be then so my sister will be up here from North Carolina and I really want her to come with me and my mom. I figure just about a year before the wedding is a good time anyway. My budget is probably around $1000, maybe a little more if I really love something. I plan on looking at Village Bridal, Bridal Suite of Bayshore, Angels Bridal and Fantasia Bridal. If I find something I love I may not need to go to that many but those are the one's I'm planning on. My sister got her's at Bridal Reflections in Massapequa which I've heard good things about from other girls on here as well.

I'll be looking probably a little earlier than this time next year. Most of the dresses I want are at the Bridal Boutique in Bayshore

My cousin and I recently went to Bayshore Bridals for bridesmaid dresses for her wedding. The service was BEYOND horrible! They left us waiting (we had an appointment) stuck us in one room, didnt help us, didnt clip our dresses. We tried on what we wanted and walked out (they didnt even notice we left) and then they called her asking if we wanted to place an order! How crazy

I'll start looking in December next year, I've read you should order at least 8 months out, anything later than that could be subject to a rush fee. My budget is about $2000 but I would spend more than that if I found a dress I really loved.

LADIES! I went to Paradise Bridal in Patchogue today! let me just say it was the most amazing experience!!! My sister and I both bought our dresses, I was NOT planning on trying anything on but my sister who is getting married May 2013 needed her dress ASAP so we got her dress and I found the most perfect price well under my budget! Cherrie literally spent two hours with us just staring at ourselves in the mirror, It was the best experience I have ever had!

I too have been to Paradise Bridal in Patchogue and it was great! I went during a trunk show, no appointment and they spent well over an hour with me. I even fell in love with a dress but my mom wasn't there, just my BM so I was too nervous but have been dreaming about going back ever since! I just think it's too early (for me personally)

yeah I felt it was too early also, I wasn't planning on looking until may of 2013 but they assured me as long as they haven't ordered it yet ( I have to give them $600 more ) they can switch my money to another dress :)

Yea I didnt want to spend that much either. David's Bridal in westbury has a great selection for lower budget brides. The one I fell in love with happened to be a little more than I wanted to spend, but its gorgeous!

my dress was under 2000 and they assured me alterations max out at 275 so it will only be around 1600 tops! and they gave me a free veil!!! as well as a 50 store credit! We went to Davids Bridal in lake grove when we were looking for my sisters dress and the women were so unhelpful they kept bringing her dresses that were way over budget and the opposite of what she wanted !

Crashing, def don't feel discourage by budget I wanted to stay under 3k and the dress I ended up choosing was $850, I didn't think of it at the time but if you get the style number and put it I'm google you can almost always find it for cheaper somewhere else. Also, if there's a particular dress you love there are websites like recycled bride and preownedweddingdress.com that you can buy it directly from a bride for such a discount. (My friend sold her designer dress on there for half of what she paid). You def have tons of options :)

Hey ladies,I actually just went to Kleinfelds and had a really great experience! There were sooooo many dresses and the store is beautiful! I picked a dress first and then later went back and actually fell in love with a different one that happened to be a bit less expensive, so now I have a store credit there for $1860.
It's totally transferable, good for 10 years, and can be used on anything in the store. You'll be able to contact Kleinfelds and verify the credit and I work right near Kleinfelds so I can meet there anytime to do the transfer at the store.
If you're interested in going to Kleinfelds, let me know because I am looking to sell it for a discounted price!
Good luck finding your perfect dress :)

Davids actually has some great bridge collections such as Vera Wang and Melissa Sweet. I plan on looking there for my 2nd dress.
