Dresses - Where to go?
Hi! So my mom is asking me to make a list of places I would like to go to go dress shopping. With the exception of David's Bridal and Kleinfeld's in the city I don't really know what my options are.I live in Nassau county around the Suffolk border so places that aren't TOO far from there would be great but would just really like to hear about positive and negative experiences in different locations to kind of give me an idea of where I would like to go.
Thanks! :)

Check out the New York Bridal Outlet on 110 by Adventureland. It's one of the first places I went and the people there were lovely and super helpful.I went to Estelles too. Their service is kind of meh becuase they're always so busy, but if you have someone with you the two of you can kind of handle it on your own. That place was helpful for me to just try on a bunch of different silhouettes and see what I liked.
Renates in lindenhurst is where I got my dress, and they were super helpful. By the time I got there I pretty much knew the general look I wanted, and they were great at pulling and helping me try on everything that fit that idea.

Re: Dresses - Where to go?
Next weekend I am heading to Bridal Reflections in Massapequa and Village Bridal in Babylon. I have heard good things about both these locations.

All of this is great! I'd love to hear more on Bridal Reflections since Massapequa would be easy for my mom and I to get to so would definitely love to hear how it goes after you go! :)

I wouldn't recommend bridal reflections in massapequa. I had a bad experience and I know I'm not alone. They are very snobby and overpriced, plus you can't look at their dresses and pick what you want. The woman brought me dresses not anything like what I wanted. Then she flat out insulted me based on my body shape. It made me feel so good! Lol...I would check village bridal Babylon and bridal suite of bay shore. I ended up getting my dress at Elenas bridal in merrick and they are fantastic. I could rave about them for days. It's a small boutique store :)

I found bridal reflections in Massapequa to be okay but not great. It really stinks you cant see any of the dresses only what they decide to pull for you. Village bridal in Babylon and Bridal Suite of Bay Shore are by far the two best stores I went to!

Re: Dresses - Where to go?
Wow i am shocked to hear the negative reviews about the Massapequa location. My sister and best friend got their dresses there and had nothing but great things to say about the place. I also purchased a bridesmaids gown from them and had nothing but a great experience with them. I will definitely let you all know how my experience goes next Saturday!

I have gotten a few bridesmaid dresses at Bridal Reflections and they annoyed me so much, I didnt go there for my dress. I just find them to be a little rude and snobby.

Dresses - Where to go?
I have mixed feelings about bridal reflections. My friend and I went for bridesmaids dresses and I thought they were terrible. The girls at the front desk were very rude. However, when I went to the bridal side with my friend for her wedding, the woman who helped us was very nice. My friend ended up trying on the dress she ended up buying at the store, but found it cheaper closer to her home upstate. I guess it depends on the day/sales person you get..I will say nothing but positive things about Village Bridal in Babylon and the Bridal Suite in Centereach. I have and will be getting bmaids dresses from Village Bridal for family and friends weddings, and am also getting a bmaid dress at Bridal Suite. Everyone in those locations have been super nice and attentive to not only the bride but the bridal party as well. Top two spots in my book!

This is all so helpful! Centereach is a little far for me but there is so much positive feedback on Village Bridal that it definitely has to be on my list! Also Elenas bridal in Merrick seems like somewhere to stop by as well.I'm very eager to hear how your weekend goes at BR! I have some time, I'm probably going to make appointments for a couple months from now but my mother gets a little over excited and wants to get an idea of where we're headed now! Does anyone else have a mother like this...?

I have TONS of recommendations in the city--there are so many great boutiques not as crazy as Kleinfelds. Let me know if you are interested.

Definitely be willing to hear some city ones too! My mom and I both work in the city so this could be helpful as well :)

Dresses - Where to go?
First off, the Bridal Reflections in NYC is great--I was there with a friend and compared to the one on LI, I thought it was TOTALLY a different scene. I'd definitely check it out. If you are looking for wow factor dresses, I really liked the people at Designer Loft (a woman named Logan was my consultant). I'm looking for a simple sheath dress though and they didn't have a lot for me to chose from. Other great salons are Gabriella New York, Lovely (I have an appt there next week), and Pronovias.

Lillettes in Bellmore came highly recommended. I also just went to Max Bridal tonite with my MOH for her wedding gown. It's in Mineola and they were so nice and made us both feel great.

Bridal Suite of Centereach. I know you said that's a little far for you but I'm from Staten Island, and it's not THAT far LOL I guess it's all a matter of perspective. I loved the ladies there, everyone was very attentive. Can't wait to pick up my dress.

I got my dress from RK Bridal and I had a pretty good experience, my consultant was patient and helpful. I would recommend going during the week though. I heard weekends are a mad house. lol

Dresses - Where to go?
I got my dress at RK Bridal as well (one because I was plus size and wanted to go somewhere with lots of selection that wasn't David's Bridal, and two, I heard their prices were great).I went on a Monday during the week and was helped right away. I had a good experience. I had photos of dresses and unfortunately they only had one of them in the store. Knowing what you want is very important when going to RK Bridal because they have A LOT of dresses.
