do you think they are as flattering as dresses WITH a corset? when i try them on i keep thinking i defintiely want a corset because it s u c k s me in so much more but is that just because its easier to make the corsetts fit? but there are some dresses without the corset that i love but im afraid it wont be AS flattering. do you think when any dress is in your size and altered it should suck you in well, or will the corsett always be more slenderizing?

the corset ones prob look more flattering now cuz theyre adjustable rather then clipping a non corset dress..... i think you shouldnt rule out a dress you love even if it doesnt have a corset back, it will be flattering on you once it fits

mine is not corset and i love it...i love the buttons that go down the back
once it fits you right it will look just as good as a corset.

i personally prefer dresses that do not have a corset. when i tried on dresses the corset was just too much work and did not make me feel comfortable. the dress i ended up getting does not have a corset and still looks very fitted on me so i think you should not write off the non-corset dresses that you like!

I had always wanted a dress with a corset for this exact reason, but my dress has buttons going all the way down the back! I fell in love with it and once it's all fitted it will definitely suck it all in. And if you are sitll concerned, you can ask bout putting in and inner corset or wearing one underneath so long as it lays flat under the dress. Your seamstress will have better ideas about it though.

If you like a gown without a corsett, go for it! When you get the gown in your size I'm sure it will look great corsett or not! Those Clips don't hold anything in! lol!

I kept saying I wanted the corset cause i love the look.. but the dress i fell in love with didn't have it... UNTIL i tried it on and found out it has a corset underneath the buttons, you just can't see them!!! but I would have wanted it either way. Once it is fitted to you I think it will feel right whatever style you get.

I have not decided, i have some that are contenders... but do not know if any of them are the one... im asking about the corsets because when we were shopping my mom and everyone with us were like the corsets looking amazing you have to get one with that, but now im finding others i want to try on that have buttons down the back and think i like that look better! ugh!! i did not think i would be so indecisive about the dress, ive probably tried on like 50 now! and its getting annoying!

You can always get one of those long lined bra corset type things to wear underneath if the dress doesn't have one, but you like the way it looks.

my dress has an inside corset so you get the job done but has a zipper outside. i had a hard time choosing if i wanted the zipper at all but after a lot of posts on liw, lol and looking at pics, i chose the zipper with interior corset. im not sure how many designers do this but i have a maggie dress.

corsets make me look fat. makes my hips wide. i duno why. my dress is just a zip up see-thru lace. i feel skinnier in that dress than any other dress ive tried on

I have corset and it doesn't really suck me in. Corset dresses are WAY different than a REAL corset. I have been trained to a 22 inch waist in a real corset so trust me. I would be dying if the corset was 'real' in my dress. The thing is if you tie the corset too tight, the material bunches. It's more for show and shape.
But you can't have big hips for a corset dress because it does kinda make that part of your body more big. That's why I got it. I have boy hips. I'll trade for big hips ANYDAY!
