Due for a new phone from Verizon - what to get?

I get a $100 credit, so most end up being free.

Have anyone of you gotten a new cell recently?
I'm probably going to get one this afternoon.

I don't text, I don't need anything superfancy - I just need a good reliable phone with a GOOD speakerphone.

i like my moto razr... it works well, i've dropped it a couple of times and nothing happened, it has held up well and the speakerphone, service, volume, features, etc are all great.

the battery life is GREAT-- i hardly charge it and it stays alive for like 3 or 4 days... vinny is always yelling at me to charge it

the speakerphone is very loud!

DON'T get the one that flips open and reveals a keyboard and speakers and crap. my FH has it, cause he just HAD to be cool and have the fancy phone....and he HATES it now cause it weighs too much and it's too bulky!!!

I'm either going to try the Razr or the LG VX8300.

I've had good luck with LGs before- they outlast everything.....but the 8300 is just soooooo much thicker than the Razr...

Like I said, loud speaker and good solid calls are my only requirements.

Verizon has a 'new every 2' policy - every 2 years (22months really), you get a $100 credit for a new phone.

Mich, how long ago did your sister get the Razr? The new software Razrs just came out recently. The older ones were cah-raaaaaa-ppy.

Hi, sorry to crash!! I'm from the 09 boards but I know what it's like to find a cell phone you're happy with. I totally recommend the VX8300. I just got it and it's so awesome. Speakerphone and battery life are A+ for me plus another perk is that it gets the best reception. My apartment where I go to school in Delware was always a dead zone for me and now my phone always works. It is a little on the bulky side compared to what's out there now but it's definitely reasonable and doesn't feel heavy. HTH!

UGH I'm stuck!!!
THe good thing is that they allow you to try out any phone for 15 days...if 1 is no good, I can very easily switch to the other.

I'm due for the same $100.00 credit too in January....and I went into a Verizon store to see what they recommend and the sales person also recommended the LG8300, but as you said it is thick. I'll have to see how it feels in my hand and case.

DONT get a razor... Ours SUUUUCK so bad! And if you drop it once its all over... the phone is done!

Honestly speakerphones are tough... the best one I ever had was on a Nextel phone... those speakers were AWESOME... ever since, all my phones speakers have not even come close...

I have the pink razr and I hate the speakerphone. I can hear the person, but they can't hear me!! I bought a hands free thing so I use that now.

I have the pink razor too. I like the phone, but some people can hear me on speakerphone and others cant. Its soo annoying and i cant find my ear piece.
