can you just WALK into city hall and get your marriage license ? How long does it take etc etc?
FH & I need to get married within the next few weeks for insurance reasons and I need to do it as quickly as possible. Is there a better time to go to get it done faster?

I just got my marriage license yesterday and it took about 20 minutes. We are out on Long Island but I can't imagine it would be much longer in the city. You could always call City Hall and find out when is the slowest time of the day for them. I would imagine the later in the day, the longer the wait is going to be. Good luck!

Yep, you just walk in, if you're going in the city, you just need your driver's licenses (or passport maybe) and a $35 money order.
You will, of course, need to wait at least 24 hours (exact) for you to come back to be married at city hall or anywhere else.
