dumb question about manicures

I;ve never had a manicure in my life. If I go to one of those nail places, do I need an appointment or will they take walk-ins?

I have never had one either!!! I think it depends on the place... some places have walk ins, other places you need an appt...

you can walk in
they take appointments but i think people do that just to secure a certain person to do their nails.

some etiquette you should be aware of:

after they put the hot towel over your nails and before the polish, you will have to pay. make sure you have the cash to pay and give tip at that time. i aslo recommend taking your keys out of your bag (so you dont have to fish for them with wet nails) and also putting your jacket on (so you dont smudge your nails as they go through the sleeve)

they may try to convince you to add things on like hot cream or paraffin etc.... it will be another $5-10 so just say no if you dont ant those extra treatments

if you get french manicure (the white line on the tip of the nail) that is typically $4-7 more for the manicure

I just got my nails done for the first time this morning and I love the french manicure! I paid about $45 and will go back in 2-3 weeks to get filled.
