Besides the immediate family (parents, grandparents) and GM/BM's, who else comes? Do aunts and uncles come even though they're not necessarily part of the ceremony? Or is it just the wedding party and immediate family?

i was just gonna have bridal party and their dates, my parents, fh's dad, and my aunt and uncle bc my aunt is singing at the church

it's what ever you and FH want. If you want it to be more 'intimate' and small then no. IF you want it to be everyone similar to a smaller scale wedding go for it.

My Weddings for Dummies book says that any out of town guests also come.

yeah just parents, bp, grandparents, the readers, rb and fg and their parents of course lol. Also alot do OOT guests.

I have a laaarge BP to begin with, so I can't even have the option of something intimate. LOL.But I'm having the full BP...all the paretns...adn BP dates, and that's all I know of right now. Since it's more of likely just going to be pizza and or heros, anyone can come really. LOL

We wanted to keep ours as intimate as possible so we only invited our immediate families and anyone who was participating in the wedding (and their spouse/significant other). We didn't invite OOT guests b/c it just simply would have been too many people. Plus, this is when we gave our BP gifts out, and I wouldn't have wanted to do that in front of others who wouldn't be receiving gifts.

We had parents, wedding party, grandparents, aunts and uncles. In our case, the aunts and uncles were parents of the folks in the wedding party (that is, wedding party contained cousins). Most of our wedding party was single, but I would include their dates as well, esp. if they were traveling to the wedding.
I think it's nice but not mandatory to have OOT guests, particularly if there are a lot of them.

we are just having parents, grandparents, siblings, bridal party, readers and everyones spouse/significant other. No out of town guests for us....gets too expensive!

We didnt have that many OOT guests to begin with but the OOT guests we did have most came on friday before our wedding or on sat morning the day of our wedding. We had our RD the thursday before the wedding and only 1 OOT guest was here for that so we did invite her but she was also the daughter of one of our readers and IL's best friends kid so was fine.

I WISH I could do that - it would be ideal to have it a couple of days or a few days before. Neither of our families or anyone in the wedding party live anywhere near the RH and EVERYONE is traveling there and staying the night before. So I think it would be a huge inconvenience to have the main people travel there once and then have to travel back the night before since the wedding is so early. It's too bad though.

Most of our wedding guests were OOT, so there was no way we could extend the RD to all of them. We kept it to abt 35:
BP, Parents, Grandparents, Godparents. It worked perfectly and was a nice intimate gathering.
Don't feel pressured into having a second reception which is often what the RD's turn into!

It can be as large or as small as you want. Ours will probably be at least two weeks prior to the wedding, we don't want it the week of, and the week before is Thanksgiving week, so almost all of our OOT-ers will not be present, which is great, because FH has a very large immediate family, I call it 'the clan', 17 people at a clip. We could never, NEVER, not invite the aunts, uncles, and cousins, so that's just not an option. So adding that to my side, we're looking at like 28 people total, yikes!

alot of ppl do it the night before so its ok. It all depends on you. Just make sure that you dont leave anything for the last day. I had a few things to do the day before so thats why i did RD 2 days before and worked out great for me.
