Re: E-Party?
I don't think we are having one either. I feel like it's a lot to ask of people. E-party, Shower, Bach party, and then wedding. We may just have a very small dinner party to celebrate. HTH

Re: E-Party?
We're having one. At first we weren'y going to, but I really wanted to celebrate our engagement. We are having immediate family and bridal party at a restaurant, than haveing a after party BBQ at my sister's for our friends we couldn't invite to the restaurant b/c of the cost....
I love parties!!

Re: E-Party?
its not necessary if you don't want one you don't have to have one. I just did one with our close families only (aunts, uncles, cousins) so our immediate families could meet and it broke up my long engagement a bit!

We had one there were about 100 people there we just had a cocktail party though. Appetizer's and drinks then coffee and dessert. It was great and everyone had a good time.

We didn't have one, we decided it was best to put the money towards the wedding itself.

Re: E-Party?
We just had ours this past Saturday and it was a blast (check out my album!!). It was just close family members - invited 50 and 40 came. We had family from 10 different states... It was so sweet how people made the effort to come.<3
The best thing about the party was allowing the families to really get to know each other. That was our main reason for having it and it worked - everyone mingled sooo well. I think it's a great thing to do.
ETA: I never actually read your original post until now. I totally understand why you wouldn't have one if people need to fly in.

Re: E-Party?
We're not. It's not really done in my family. We might have a small bbq over the summer and invite both families (immediate only), but not something official.
