Hey ladies, I am having a backyard E party with about 100 people. We are not getting a dj....anyone else not have a dj at their E-party?
I am worried we are going to regret not having one

Re: E-party
OMG that is such a cute proposal story.
we had a dj but he was HORRIBLEE and didnt play anything we requested. thankfully he came with the hall and we didnt have to pay. I dont think it will be a problem. You can always play the radio or make some cds.

I'm have the same type/size e-party as you, and I'm not having one! We have a speaker system built into the backyard so we are just playing an ipod. We have tons of parties like this with ust music in the background and its fine. I want the focus to be on mingling since it will be the first time the larger families will be meeting eachother!

Re: E-party
We decided not to have an e-party all together but for a while we were thinking about having a small house party or something at a knights of columbus. If we did that we just planned to hook up our ipods to some speakers. At least its something. But I think when people go to a smaller party at a house they aren't expecting the big dj set up.

Re: E-party
I had a guitarrist/singer at my eparty and thought it was such a nice touch. FM if you would like his info....FMIL picked up the cost of him, so I'm not sure how much she paid, but I was under the impression that he wasnt costly at all

Re: E-party
I don't think it's necessary. We had one at ours but no one danced. It was nice to have the background music while people mingled but you can just create a playlist on your ipod and do the same thing

Re: E-party
We're having ours at a restaurant with no DJ. Of the ones I've been to the past year or two, no one's had one.
I think you'll be fine with just some background noise. To me, the e-party should be low key and a DJ isn't usually very low key.

Re: E-party
We didnt have a DJ but we used my IPOD and connected it to a big radio set-up and put it on random. We didnt want the added expense of the DJ and I dont regret not having one at all.
