E-Party! How long after you get engaged...

How long after you get engaged are you supposed to have your e-party? Who should invite and how elaborate should it be? Thanks

I had mine about 3 months after I got engaged- we had about 100 people but had it at my mom's house. It was beautiful!

we had it 2 1/2 months after we were engaged. i wanted a simple BBQ in my parent's backyeard, but the list grew to aunts & uncles, so we had it in a mexican restaurant, but still kept it somewhat casual. it can be as casual or as formal as you want it to be.

We were engaged on June 7 and had our e-party on August 9 at the Fox Hollow.. we had a cocktail hour, formal sit down, the works.. it was like a mini-wedding.. 200 people..

Its whatever you like.

Their is a girl on here who got engaged April 2002, her eparty is tomorrow and her wedding is April 2004.

I got engaged in Sept and my parents are planning an e-party for late june or july for me.

Its going to be at a nice hall, friends and family.

WOW That's a lot of people! I wish I had that many coming to my wedding, but we have a small family! Sounds beautiful!

I got engaged 12/02 and or e-party is 6/03. We are having a very casual bbq in FH brothers backyard. About 75 people.

We were engaged 3/02, eparty 4/03 and our wedding is 3/04. Its all up to you. We had about 85 people.

We got engaged in April, 2002 and had e-party at the end of June, 2002 - just for the two families to meet, etc. It was in my parent's backyard and there were about 30 people there. Nothing elaborate at all!

We got engaged in Feb, and we are having the party in July. The wedding is Jan 4 2004. We waited so that all the relatives could come.

we got engaged in july and we are having ours at a restuarant for a sit down dinner on memorial day weekend. since we both have big families we invited up to our first cousins and the bridal party. i dont think there is a certain limit of time that you could have one. i think it is all in relation to the wedding date. we waited so long because we arent getting married until 2005.

We got engaged in Aug 02 and had the e-partyin Oct 02. We had about 120 people but it was in my parents backyard with a tent so people came in and out. It was so much fun!

We got engaged in Dec 02, we had an engagement dinner in Little Italy in April 03 with our families and our big e-party is in July 03 in Saint Louis at my FI's family vineyard...

our wedding isn't until May 04.

We got engaged in July 2002. We had our eparty February 2003. Our wedding is next June!

Edited to add: Our e-party was formal. We had it at Chateau Briand cocktail hour, dinner and all. We had a blast! Like MarcellaBella said, it was like a mini wedding.

I had mine less than 2 months after I got engaged. My mom was so excited she started planning the party before we even got home. It was at the Garden City Casino. I reccomend looking at that place to anyone looking. It is enormous, beautiful, good food and a huge dance floor.

I got engaged this March and I just sent out the invites for one of our two e-parties, so it's a little over 3 months). Each family lives in different states( one in NY and one in DC)...it just worked out easier. OUr other one won't be til August/September.

we got engaged April 20th last year - our e-party is tomorrow - we would have had it sooner but there were a number of reasons we had to wait so long (FH moved to Michigan in August to start law school, and so he is rarely home, then my aunt could only come originally now or the weekend of my law school graduation and that won't have worked - after it is said and done- my aunt can't even make it LONG STORY)
Our wedding will be the 4/24/04 so basically we are doing things in year increments.
My parents are throwing us our engagement party tomorrow afternoon. We are having it at Stresa in Manhasset on Northern Blvd. It will be a cocktail hour and a 4 course sit down luncheon. We are having about 40 people

We got engaged 1/31/03 and are having it 6/8/03
We needed to wait until everyone was in the area(curse those snowbirds)
We are inviting about 80 people and are having a bbq at the park
