Ok - so we are getting ready to send out our invites for the E-Party (hopefully by Monday - I am so excited!). We are only inviting close family and bridesmaids and groomsmen and three extremely close couples to both of our parents. So, my question is, 2 of these couples have kids - and the kids will not be invited to the wedding. My question is, would you invite the kids to the E-Party? The kids are 13, 15 and 18 and we are having a backyard bbq and FIL's house. I dont have any problem inviting the kids to the E-Party - but would that be tacky to invite them to the E-Party if the kids aren't invited to the wedding?
Help!
TIA!

Re: E-Party Invite Question - '10 Cross Claim
If they're not invited to the wedding, don't invite them to the E-party.

Re: E-Party Invite Question - '10 Cross Claim
Thats why I am on the fence
The parents of the kids know that the kids arent going to be invited to the wedding (a - we dont know the kids thats well, b- we are having a wedding of 18y/o and older). But....since we are having a backyard affair for the e-party I almost think we should include them. What I think I am going to do is address the invitations as Mr & Mrs, then have FH talk to the parents (he and his parents are friends with them) and say somehow that the kids are more then welcomed to come to the eparty - and also somehow reiterate (without being rude or tacky - no idea how to do this) that they wont be invited to the wedding...

Re: E-Party Invite Question - '10 Cross Claim
I would just sent the invite to the couple... then if they happen to ASK if the kids can come.. I would explain that the children are not going to be invited to teh wedding but they are more than welcome to come to the e-party..

Re: E-Party Invite Question - '10 Cross ?
We're not inviting kids to our engagement party but we will to the wedding. I think people will understand if there's not kids at the eparty, especially if it's small and in a restaurant.

Re: E-Party Invite Question - '10 Cross ?
Personally, I would invite them to the e-party and include them on the invitation... by addressing it to mr. and mrs so and so and family or So and So family, Sounds like its casual and laid back and this way they can still be included in your celebration in some part.
That way when they get the invitation to the wedding that is addressed to MR. and MRS. SO and SO (witout 'and family') they will know the idfference.. although it sounds like you have already let them know this in advance so it shouldnt be an issue.

Re: E-Party Invite Question - '10 Cross ?
You said that you're extremely close with the couples. Could you just ask them if they'd like to bring their kids to the E-party or how they'd feel about having them being inviting to the E-party and not the wedding?
