Re: E Party Poll?
LOL. Controversy or not, Theresa's posts are always entertaining! I'm only sorry I didn't get to meet her at the GTG.
Re engagement party - one of my BMS threw us a cocktail party in her apartment in Manhattan and we had about 10-12 couples come (all local friends) and it was fabulous. Didn't cost us a dime and cost my friends very little to throw it.

Re: E Party Poll?
We had an engagement party with a sit down dinner. It was a wonderful day, and a great time w. family and friends. Everyone mingled before the meal, and we had seating done, so it all worked out. It was actually a nice little practice run before the wedding. I say go for it, how many e-parties will you have? Go for what you want.

Re: E Party Poll?
I had a cocktail party from 7:30-12 on a friday night. It was perfect...people were able to come late and leave early if they wanted to...they were able to mingle and talk to everyone and not be stuck with the same people all night. I think it really depends on your 'intentions'...a lot of my family had never met my fiance's family so it was good to have people mingling...etc.

I also had my e-party at a 'wedding place' (harrison house) and it wasn't too much at all...it was just right

Theresa: Don't let stupid comments from people affect you. You need to do what you want, like Melissa said, You are the bride. Just do what makes you and Ron happy. Let me know if you need any help!

Re: E Party Poll?
Hi-
I am new to this site and I was looking for info on Russo's. If you don't mind me asking, how is he giving you an hour and a half cocktail hour? Do you have to ask for that because he didn't mention it to us when we looked at Russo's?
Thanks

Re: E Party Poll?
Theresa - More power to you girl!!!! I am also having a formal engagement party at a 'wedding place' (Chateau Briand). I have been reading the boards the past couple of days and I am shocked to find people criticizing other people esp. regarding e-parties and saying that people have them just to get gifts. In my culture, an engagement party is a very important part of the process of getting married. For me, I want to celebrate with my friends and family my engagement and if I (or anyone else) want to have it at the Plaza or my backyard then that is my (or their) perogative. IMO it seems as if there is a lot of jealousy on this board....but this is JMO. There is so much cattiness on this board that it makes me want to not post anymore. To each his own ladies and lets just try to be nice to each other!!!
