I like the cocktail party. Theresa, Jericho Terrace is really beautiful, I had my wedding there. What room are you looking at?

The room where the bar is in the back and it has a ton of small tables around and it overlooks the garden....

Its very nice and alot of room to dance and mingle!

I vote cocktail party, too.

True, 6 hours is a long cocktail party...but it sounds like you'll be entertaining a crowd that likes to party. Sitting down for dinner will slow things down. The cocktail party will give you more of an opportunity to mingle, and more time to dance and party it up.

It sounds like your wedding plans are really coming together-good for you! Have fun with it!!

Anyway it was a joke, but obviously girls like YOU dont have a sense of humor.

I'm not jealous in the least. My wedding was awesome and I dont have any regrets.

Verdila, if you knew that your comment would upset her and she would not take it as a joke, then why did you post it at all? I would hate to think that anyone around here was being intentionally mean, but your last post makes it sound like that is exactly what you were doing.

Think what you want. I say what I feel like many people do on this board. Didnt know that not holding back was only reserved for certain people. It was meant to be taken as a joke plain and simple. Usually a smiley face signifies that.
And let me point out that I did comment that I thought both of her locations were very nice.

Oh Jesus..

First of all, for anyone to criticize what Theresa or any other bride wants to do for her e-party, whether it be in a backyard or at the Plaza, is totally wrong..

I had a pretty formal e-party..
I had my eparty at the Fox Hollow, I had an almost 2 hour cocktail, and 4 hour sit down reception.. it was wonderful.. The only thing informal about that night was the fact that I had informal seating but EVERYONE mingled, had a great time and was even more amped for the wedding after that night..

I say you should feel out your guests.. I had a pretty lively crowd that really made the party..

Verdila, I'm not Italian and I know that even joking that someone who is Italian with a big family is in the mafia is offensive. It's a stereotype, period. And joke or not, a very obnoxious and offensive comment to make.

Everything will be beautiful.

T was asking what would be nice, not for people to jump on her. Lets just do what this board is meant for Brides helping brides.

There are many types of brides. Some who dont want an e-party and some who want it to be like a mini wedding. There are weddings that are in the backyards of peoples houses or Oheka Castle or the Waldorf=Astoria.

Everything is your personal choice. Its what will make you and your FI happy.

FI and I are having a nice small e-party with just our close friends, family and BP. It will be just our parents, aunts, uncles and cousins. But that is our personal choice. Our wedding is at Manor East and that is where we will invite everyone to join in the celebration.

A wedding is a sacrament, a joyous occasion of 2 people uniting into one. The engagement part is the time we are to all share in the happiness of the bride and groom. This is the happiness moment I know of my life and the last thing i need is someone mocking, criticizing or assuming things.

lets just all be happy for each other and enjoy these moments

But for someone to go so low to call out my family being either Loaded (Which what if they are) or in the Mafia is REALLY crossing the line.

How does she know who is paying for my wedding?
How does she know who my family is?

Who the heck is she to judge where I have or how many I am having at my E party...

I am having aunts, unlces and first cousins ONLY, the BP, and our close friends 180..

Sorry if that bothers her.. U would think I asked her to Pay the bill not what type of party I wanted..

I have to WATCH what I say.. Wouldn't want to be reported..

Here's my 2 cents:

I think a cocktail party would be awesome, but I agree that six hours might be a little too long.

Secondly, what does it matter where she has the **** eparty or reception, are you footing the bill?..no I didn't think so

T..you go girl have the most wild, slamming memorable eparty and wedding that you possibly can.
