E Party Questions

Where did you have your engagement party? how long after you were engaged did you have the party? how many people did you invite to the party? and what did it run you at the end of the night (final cost)?

Thanks!

hi! welcome and congrats if i didn't already say so! I am having my e-party in March, at Domenico's in Levittown. I am inviting about 50 family members only from both sides of our family for a luncheon.. i think its a nice way to have our families meet for the first time! (like, aunts uncles, cousins, etc)

Re: E Party Questions

We had our e-party at CLM. We did it in february of 07 and got engaged in july of 06 so about 7 months after BUT there was still over a year to our wedding when we had e-party.

We had 150 guests and this was with ONLY having close friends and family lol. Dh's family is big and even with us doing no kids and just aunts, uncles and first cousins it was alot on dh's side. HIs family alone were about 60 guests or more actually. His dad is 1 of 7 kids so all his brothers and sisters were there, and all their kids whom are dh's first cousins and dh and his brother are the youngest of the 1st cousins so all his first cousins were married and dh has about 23 first cousins so just his first cousins and husband or wife were about 40-something ppl. Then his moms side too. Plus our bp plus close friends and my side. On our wedding day we had 275 guests so our e-party was less than half the guests at wedding. So yeah we definitely didnt invite everybody to e-party, although i know alot of ppl will think so bc of the amount of guests we had if they look just at e-party head count

CLM gave us a good price, we had it on a saturday evening in the downstairs ballroom. We also hired a DJ and that cost us $1800. Then i bought flowers myself from wholesale place and bought the vases myself. They were amaryllis flowers so lucky you just throw them in the vase since they are meant to be a bit more loose. But then theres also favors, i also did personalized menu's, then also invitations. So it can add up but all depends on what you want to do. You can do a brunch to keep costs down and have no dj. You can do it on a friday or sunday to keep costs down.

Re: E Party Questions

We're having ours this Friday night at the Seaford Memorare in Seaford. It is along the lines of a knights of columbus but much much nicer, and they even do a lot of weddings there. The price is $35 pp including salad, full buffet with 5 entree choices, and cake, as well as an an open bar for 4 hours. We are having approx. 105 guests and a dj which ran us $400. If interested, speak to Greg, he's really nice and a pleasure to work with...

We had our E-party 3 months after we got engaged. We had it at Caffe on the Green in Bayside. Click here for my review and pics!

We had about 134 people...and just the catering cost us 16k. We upgraded everything though.
It was a mini wedding.
I also have pics in my album.

Re: E Party Questions

We will be having our party the 23rd of this month, six months after getting engaged, at our house. Approximately 80 people or so will be coming & after all is said and done we will probably say we spent about 1500-2000; a lot that we have done such as centerpieces, favors, invites, thank you, gifts for our BP have been DIY
