I need some advice.. as I have heard so many different things..
What does everyone think about giving speeches at the E-Party?????? Who shouild? etc?
We are having a relatively small one.... in the catering room of a restaurant.. about 60 people... bridal party and immediate family
so.... go for it.. i want your advice.. and im adding a little poll too!!!

we just thanked the woman who introduced us and our parents and everyone who helped us with the planning. no one else gave speeches. id save that for the wedding.

we didnt have any speeches at our eparty but i dont think it would be so bad if someone gave a short one

at my eparty...me and fh gave a thank u speech to parents and then my 3 moh's and his bm gave a speech...it was nice

we briefly thanked my parents for throwing the party, and my parents welcomed everyone, but no 'speeches'

We didn't have any speeches at our E-party. I think that is more of a RD and wedding day thing!

FH and I are going to say a few words, thanking everyone for coming and helping us celebrate and obviously thanking our parents and bridal party.
My Dad might say a few words also. But we are not asking him to say anything.

longislandlibrarian, I am soo happy that you asked this question because I wondering the exact same thing! My part is next sat and lik eyou it is about 60 people..immediate fam and bridal party. Im at loss about what to do also! hmmm lets think!

I didn't want anything to do with speeches, I wanted it informal and I didn't think it was needed, but depending on the extravagance of the party, is how to judge it. During my party my mother tried to start a speech and I flipped out! Do what you want its your party.

My family asked me to get up and thank my mom for giving it and thank everyone for coming......Of course I was crying half way though it So you can always just say a small one thank everyone for coming...

My uncle also got up and said a few words and got all my uncles up too to sing a funny song to the FH about good luck(from other married men) LOL It was very funny!!!

i say no speeches necessary. maybe if you want to say a quick thank you to everyone for celebrating with you or something. i don't think you need anything more than that.

i always groan when the speeches start, lol. but i do think the bride or groom should say something quick along the lines of thanking everyone for joining in the celebration...

there doesnt need to be any speeches. we did one as a joke for my Fbil. and he did a great job with the one word speech. LOL

We just had ours this past weekend at my house-- about 80ppl. My father and fh knew they were going to say something but my sister (maid of honor) and fh's best friend (best man) made a little impromt to speech as well. I think they are a great idea!
