From single guests I received between $75 and $200...
I guess it just depends the relationship you have with them.....

I would say $50....maybe include a nice bottle of champagne...(or here's a really nice gift, when my sister got engaged, a cousin of ours gave her a waterford ring holder)

It really depends on how close you are with this person... I would give $50 but it was family or a close friend I would definetely give more $ ... JMO

I usually gift actual gifts for engagements, I save the $$$ for the wedding gift.

same here...you Italian? My family always gave money. (there was never even a need for someone to register for the e-party, so i didn't do it either.)
My FH's family never 'believed' in e-parties. His Mother said that they all say it's bad luck. It was funny - when Rich's widowed Uncle got our invite, he was like, 'are men SUPPOSED to be at this thing? Isn't it a girly thing?'

I've never given money for an engagement party. Always a gift--probably around the $50 range. (BTW-I am also Italian. )
We didn't have an engagement party. We did receive engagement gifts & I think only one was monetary, from someone we don't know very well.

DH's Italian and his family all gave gifts. Most our our friends gave $ and I'd say a single giving $50 is plenty!
