E-Ring...

E-Ring...

Do any of you have shots in your ring? If so, does it help stop the ring from spinning? I've had the ring sized down 1/2 a size, I have a small finer, but my knuckles are bigger, and I'm afraid to go down another 1/2 size for fear that it will be too tight. The jeweler mentioned shots. Is it uncomfortable? I'm so sick of the ring spinning around on my finger...the diamond is always on the bottom of my finger...

Anybody else have this problem? Any other knuckle crackers out there?

I have the same problem. I am going to meet with the jeweler to determine our next course of action...

i have shots on the inside of my rings and it was uncomfortable for the first two days but I've gotten used to it. Now I don't feel it anymore. It does help to prevent the ring from rotating. Although when it's cold outside, my finger gets small, the shots don't do much in the cold

What time of year did you have them put in? I had the ring sized in the summer, and it seemed fine for the most part, but once September hit it started spinning. My fear is that I will resize, or put shots in, and then in the summer, my ring won't fit...

That's my problem...Most of the time, my ring fits fine but in the extreme humidity it's too tight and in the bitter cold, it's really really loose.

I have that problem too, I haven't gotten the shots done either. Wanted to see how different the e-ring fits for a year. Right now I have this rubber attachment that I wear with the ring if it feels too large. I bought it for like $3 in the mall at one of those youth fashion jewelry stores, its call snuggies.

How does it work? Is it worth the $3? Are you thinking of doing shots now? I think I would rather have my ring fit 9 out of the 12 months, rather than just in the summer, (which is when it fits now)...decisions....decisions....

Have you talked to a jeweler about your concerns? I had a ring that I thought I wanted to resize, but after the jeweler sized it and my finger, he suggested that I have the shots put in instead. There were also other options (but I don't remeber all the details), including removable ring guards.

I don't notice the shots at all in my ring and it does stop the ring from spinning.

I went to Gennaro Jewelers, which is located at 410 Bedford Ave, Bellmore. Their phone number is 1-800-304-4376.

Yes. The jeweler is the one who recommended the shots. He said he could take it down another 1/2 size, but doesn't recommend resizing too much because it weakens the metal. The shots can always be taken out when I get pregnant...
I'm afraid I will feel too claustrophobic if they are squeezing my finger...does that make any sense? If I can't tell they are there it would be better...

I had mine done last August. It was fine until winter came, it was a little loose. But I'd rather it be loose during the winter than having it too tight during the summer.
I just want to add that you probably want it a little loose if you plan on wearing your wedding band with it. My wedding band pushes the e-ring out so its a better fit with both rings.

why dont you just get it resized smaller by 1/4 so it will be in between--- I did this with one of my other rings and I never had a problem after that!

I had them put into my ring but like you said, once the winter hit, they didn't do much. So I asked the jeweler what to do. He put a small piece of platinum on the inside and only attached it on one side so it 'bounces.' This way it expands with my finger. Maybe that will help with the changing weather.

I didn't think of that. Which ring do you wear closer to your heart? The wedding band or the e-ring?

I didn't know they could do 1/4 size. That sounds like it would be perfect! I'll definitely look into that! Thanks for the info!

I haven't heard of this either! Definitely going to ask about it! Is the extra piece of platinum on the band where a ring guard would go? Did it cost extra?

I had shots and they were SO uncomfortable, so we took them out and instead flattened the underside of the band-b/c in actuality your finger is flat underneath, this worked and it stopped spinning.

My jeweler is in Bellmore Village, Gennaro Jewelers, they are amazing there and sooo helpful
