E-Ring Appraisal

Re: E-Ring Appraisal

I paid $100 to have my e-ring appraised at Kay Cameron Jewelers in Sayville. I brought my GIA certificate with me and the appraiser gave me a dossier with his credentials, a pic of the stone and a thorough appraisal report.

I had my ring appraised at the 'Jewelry Judge' in Garden City. Barry Blockis one of the few 'Master Gemologist Appraisers' in the area. He was great and gave me all sorts of tips on how to keep my ring in the best shape.

Bring your GIA certification papers.

My appraisal came with ring. When I insured it the insurance company asked for the appraisal and GIA cert.

Re: E-Ring Appraisal

I had mine appraised at UGL Lab on 47 st in the diamond district. I think it was about $210 but it includes lifetime checks for $20. That means that if ever I need to leave my ring w/a jeweler and want to check that they gave me back my rock I can have it checked for $20. I actually had it checked already b/c after about 4 months of having my ring my stone FELL OUT at work!!!!!!! So after having it reset I confirmed that it's the same stone.

How to keep it clean. He told me to use only Joy dish cleaner. I took the plunge and bought a mini sonic jewelry cleaner and a steam machine for 99. He wasn't pressuring me into it but after i saw the difference with my ring super clean i had to buy. He also recommended insurance as i did not want to go through homeowners. Plus i panic about losing stones and he set me at ease.

I've heard that your ring should appraise at double what the purchase price was. Is this true?

I got mine appraised today for $16.00 (flat rate)- all they needed was the GIA and they wrote up an appraisal including the setting.

The place is 'Goldirocks' in Oceanside, Sands Plaza.
