Re: E- RING INSURANCE???
i got insurance on my ring literally 5 minutes after we got engaged... first two calls were to our parents and the 3rd call was my insurance company!!!!!
You can either add it on to your homeowners policy or get a valuable articles policy. I got a valuable articles policy and added on other pieces of jewelry i have too....

Re: E- RING INSURANCE???
I insured through CHUBB. I chose CHUBB because in the event that my ring is lost or damaged, they will just cut me a check.
Other insurance companies would replace the diamond w/ a like diamond of similar value - it is important to get a good, detailed appraisal.

Re: E- RING INSURANCE???
Im not 100% sure of the cost fh paid it...he actually insured it before we he gave it to me...But I do know that he needed to take out renters insurance for it...Its a good idea and it gives you some peace of mind

Re: E- RING INSURANCE???
Mine is insured through Jeweler's Mutual, and it was so easy, just went online and printed out the forms and mailed it in with a copy of the ring appraisal.
It used to cost 75 bucks a year when i lived in New York, but now that we live in Kansas it's only 52 dollars a year. so cheap! and so worth it, because I lose everything and I need to have that peace of mind.

I have a separate policy through Chubb. It's just under $900 a year but I think ours is on the high end because of our zipcode (urban area).
do you have a very very expensive ring? I think we pay ~ $100 a year through state farm
yes but I'm thinking about shopping around after this year. I should be able to find something cheaper!
I have insurance with Chubb too and thats about the price I pay for my ring.

I do. Mine is too big for us to add it to the homeowners...we went with Chubb because they will give you the amount that its insured for. Jewelers Mutual is the other one that insures jewelry, and their policy is to replace the exact ring that was lost.
yeh, thats why FH and I chose Chubb. Jewelers Mutual will only replace an equivalent looking ring if it is lost. whereas Chubb gives you the option to replace the ring, or give you the cash value of the ring.

Re: E- RING INSURANCE???
We can't find insurance without it being a fortune, we live in Long Beach and to get renters insurance is ridiculous right now, no one wants to insure us! We don't know what to do and I am hate not having insurance on it.

First, get an appraisal of your ring. Then call one of the Chubb agents that's listed on their site. They'll ask you over the phone for the information that they need and then you can fax them a copy of your appraisal. They will mail you the papers and you can pay for it then.

Hi ladies I have my ring insured through Chubb, but as of a couple months ago they will not just write a jewelry policy, you will need some other policy with them also. I am an insurance agent, so if anyone wants a quote or wants to discuss insurance please FM me. Thanks !!!

I have it on my e-ring, but won't get it on wedding band.
It's like 500 / year, but my ring was expensive.

whoa.... that seems like a lot. My ring is considered 'big' and I paid much less than that
Just thought of something... I live in a different state so our terms must be different.... never mind my rambling!

Re: E- RING INSURANCE???
Also ladies - just a word to the wise:
1 - take pictures of yourself wearing the ring 2 - keep the receipt or have your hubby keep it 3 - file a police report ASAP if you ever lose it.
These are things your insurance company may ask for if you file a claim.

really? I don't have a policy with them and was able to get my ring insured... abeit it was expensive! FH and I hope to put the e-ring into homeowners insurance once we have our house, but for now we just buy insurane on the ring.
