Our plan is to start trying right away. I'm 38 and do not want to wait too long. I do have a 4 year old Son which was not a planned pregnancy so I really don't know how I long it will take.

I understand, I had my Son at 33 and apparently had no problem conceiving but I do worry now that I am older. Good luck to you!

I take them as my regular vitamins since it's good to have the folic acid in your system and won't cause any adverse reactions if you're not TTC but we're not planning to TTC maybe till 2008 sometime.

I have questions regarding this topic. Do u start to take them if ur trying to have a baby now or know u will be trying soon?? If so what is the reason?? Sounds silly but I don't understand??

Re: Early 07 brides...

Most people take them a few months before they start trying since during the first trimester it's important to have enough folic acid in your system to try to prevent birth defects like spina bifida. I just take them now as my regular vitamins because it doesn't hurt to take them anyway and I think they're good for hair and nails.

Where do u get them?? I am not getting married till October 07 but FH and I wanted to try and get pregnant by that december. When should Ibtake them ?? I hate PILLS of any sort so when would be best ??

You can get them anywhere, vitamin shoppe, drug stores. Most of the ones I've taken are the big horse pills though. I'm sure your gyn might be able to prescribe some. I'd say if you want to start trying around the HM then maybe a month or 2 before the wedding, 1. just to get used to taking it everyday and also in case you take one and don't like it and need to find a different brand.

i told my gyn that i hate pills that smell and most vitamins have that nasty smell - he prescribed me primacare1 and i love them. they're coated so theres no taste, smell and my sister-in-law said that they constipated her (sorry TMI) but I think they've regulated me. Either way, I've been very energetic ever since I started taking them. There are a lot out there. I was told by my fsmil that I need to take an additional folic acid, but not sure if they have those coated or not.

I had the same question glad you asked. I do want to start right away also, me and FH has been together for 5 years and we have had plenty of alone time and traveling. We want to start a family now.

My GYN prescribe those also, but I never went and got them filled. I think I will maybe in April or May.
