I don't want to worry anyone but this is what the Geological survey just said: “What the concern is, of course, is that this is a foreshock. If it’s a foreshock, then the worse is yet to come.” I hope they are wrong.

the entire house was shaking and it wasn't stopping....the thoughts that started to go through my mind were insane...
some of which were...

OMG.. the whole office was shaking over here!!!!! Now I'm just worried because I can't get through to my brother who works at the World Trade Center and my FH, who was most likely in the subways at the time.

I am so trying to calmly call them and not have a panic attack, but it's worse than New Years with these stupid phones!!!!!!..

yup got it down here in md... i'm in a one story building so it wasn't as bad but some of my co-workers were on a telecon with people in dc and they're evacuating all over the place

A bunch of people at work felt it. The guy across the hall from me said 'was that an earthquake??' I asked if he was crazy. My officemate felt it too though! Guess I was just so busy with work I didn't even notice

Alot of phone lines are down. I can't get through to anyone. My whole body felt the shake. We have heavy equipment in our warehouse, i thought a machine was exploding...i ran outside. That was wild.

When my couch started moving I thought it was loud music coming from downstairs (which would be weird since an older woman lives there and never makes noise), but then my dog started bouncing too!! We ended up running down six flights of stairs to get outside in case of anything..

I didn't feel a thing!!! and I was outside eating lunch with my co-workers. ppl in my office in the top floors said they felt it.

that was very scary! I was out at lunch, and the restaurant floor and chandeliers were shaking. Everyone was looking at each other like Whatttttt on earth is going on??

My best friend is in VA for work and said they were evacuated. When I got back to the office, we were evacuated too but are obviously back inside now.

I dont like natural disasters even when they are not big disasters. lol
