Hey girls, I live in Queens and I'm planning my wedding at Vineyard Caterers in Aquebogue. I need some recommendations for hair/makeup out east. Also, any ideas for a rehearsal dinner restaurant? We wanted to have it at the Lobster Roll Northside, but they won't hold rehearsal dinners there Let's see, what else...any links for North Fork 'stuff' to put into the OOT baskets? I appreciate any suggestions!

For your rehearsal dinner there is a restaurant called the Cooperage Inn our east. It is in Baiting Hollow. It is really good and very pretty. I think it is a little bit more west than the Vineyard Caterers, but it might be worth a shot.

If you want chinese, try the Crystal Garden in Riverhead. I'm having my rehearsal dinner there and it's rather inexpensive (if ya wanna know how much, PM me). They have a separate party room for events like this.
Also, in Riverhead we have the Robert James Salon and Spa. I have never been there, but it might be worth checking out. ALso, I have heard fabulous things about Georgia, the owner of Georgia's Side Street Salon in Polish Town, Riverhead. But you have to ask specifically for her - supposedly she is FANTASTIC!
Good luck!

I'm getting married at Vineyard Caterers too. Some rehearsal dinner ideas...Porto Bello in Mattituck, Touch of Venice in Mattituck (near water and has an outside patio), Old Mill Inn (I think it's in Mattituck...on the water with outside patio), Digger O'Dells in Riverhead (casual, but good food), Cooperage Inn in Baiting Hollow, Bayview Inn & Restaurant in Jamesport, The Meeting House Creek Inn in Aquebogue...to name a few.

Carolyn's Salon in Aquebogue. My mother's been going there for years, my sister had her prom makeup and hair done there (not an updo, she had a 30's retro curl thing, it was fantastic), and I'm having a trial there in 2 weeks.

Here's their website...http://www.theoldmillinn.net/ I went there for dinner last summer. It was good. The outside deck was nice. A little pricey though.
