Re: East Wind Brides

We're getting married June 2006. We're getting married on site and have a very small bridal party, so we only booked one limo (for me, my parents and MOH).

We also booked Duet Photography for photo and video.

We're meeting with Burton's tomorrow for flowers. We're def. booking with them based on all of our friends' recommendations.

We're still deciding on a DJ. FH is very picky (although I'm willing to bet we're going to book the first one I suggested).

Pretty much all of the vendors we've considered have been highly recommended on this site. It's a good way to narrow down all of the MANY choices out there.

Re: East Wind Brides

July06bride - My FH is just the opposite. He's so organized with absolutely everything, wedding related or not. He wants to get as much done now as possible. We've even picked out our favors, and we're not getting married for another 14 months!!!

It's good though because he's very involved in the planning process. It makes my job easier.

emes2006-my friend is getting married the same day as you, and I am her maid of honor. I am getting married 1 month later

I think I am going to let him read your post, we did talk today and he said that if I wanted to book photographer we could, that he is into the wedding planning but WE HAVE TIME. I know there is a cultural difference too, because in Ecuador where he is from it doesnt take nearly as much time to plan a wedding so I think he is starting to realize that it does take that long here... and since we are planning a wedding from out of state it is a bit harder too

Re: East Wind Brides

That's the first person I've heard of with the same wedding date as me!!

I have to admit, picking out the favors now was a bit extreme, only because now we have to store them somewhere in out apartment for the next year. But we wanted to book the vendors now so we would have our choice of who we wanted.

Re: East Wind Brides

I plan on going to a few different places to try on dresses....even if it's just for fun (When else will I get to place dress up like this??). I'll probably check out Bridal Reflections, Briald Suite, Adrienne's, and Macy's Bridal Suite in the Smithhaven Mall (that's where my sister got her dress from).

We don't have a big bridal party. I'm only having my sister as my MOH, and I'm letting her pick her dress and color. Once I get my dress, she can pick out hers. I'd like her to get something that compliments my dress, but I want her to feel good about it too.

Re: East Wind Brides

Oh, thank you for the compliment on the favors.

FH had input on those too!!!

I originally found them online, at www.favorsbyserendipity.com. But we ordered them from Fantasyland out in Patchogue. We ordered light green bows for them too, with our names and wedding date.

Re: East Wind Brides

I got my gown at Adriennes and I love love love it!!!!!!!!! It is perfect!
I went to a few places in CT (where I live) and I didnt find anything nearly as nice as Adriennes. Every gown was beautiful in its own way!

I went to Macy's at Smithhaven mall too...I actually found a gown I thought I loved! I still think it is beautiful but I love the one at adriennes more..it was a toss up! But I am so happy with what I have,

I forget the ladies name from macys(my mom will know) she was fabulous!...MARY THATS IT ...MARY...WE loved her!

Have fun doing it, i am sure you will

LOL- I just showed Fh your post and he feels bad now..he said that he is not a planner (which I know and I am ok with) but he wants to make me happy.. he is being good right now!. : )

Re: East Wind Brides

Awww...I hope your FH isn't feeling too badly. Everything will fall into place. I did a lot of the pre-work for the vendors. I did most of my research on here and narrowed down who I wanted to see. From there we just started making appts. Since we're on LI, it was easier for us to make appointments after work during the week. Our goal is to have the big stuff booked by the end of March, and we're just about there!

I know a few brides who got their dresses at Adrienne's and they were all very happy. I'm def. going there now!

I want ALOT of candlelight at my reception, therefore alot of candles... My FMIL was saying some halls do not allow candles, or may not allow many...

Is east wind one of those reception halls??

Cuz I love the candle seating card holder..and I intend on having lots of candles on my tables... does anyone know the answer?

Re: East Wind Brides

Nah he wasnt feeling too badly..but It was actually a good moment for us, so thanks for your help! he is really great with everything, he said the one lesson he has learned from other friends who got married was to just say yes to anything i want... i like that idea! (although i do want his opinion too)

Re: East Wind Brides

Not a bride, but I was there for a wedding in July of last year and it was great. Really beautiful. No info on Heart and Soul, but I can recommend my band if you want a referral.
