Easy Poll: Do you give...

....blood on a regular basis?

I just came back from my work blood drive and the number keeps on decreaseing. we must have 600-700 people and only about 50 or so give. back in the day...it used to be 175. it such a good feeling to give to those who need..

I used to but because of a medical condition, I can not anymore. and I have a blood type (O-) that they always called me to give

I don't because I'm a wimp
And I have had blood troubles in the past, so I like to hold onto as much as I can

I don't anymore b/c the last 2 times were really bad experiences. I should go to the hospital where I used to work to donate, but haven't gotten around to it.

They won't let me donate whole blood because I'm too small. And when I tried to donate plasma, after a few minutes they stopped the machine because they couldn't recirculate it back into my vien without bursting it.

When I worked in NYC, I donated regularly because there were drives in our building.

Now did you yell at the blood people for saying you were small?

I tried to give blood in college and got a skin plug or something (the needle didn't completely puncture my skin, but a thin piece of skin got caught on the end of the needle and dragged under the rest of my skin and never made it to the blood. It was painful.

My veins are really difficult to find so I don't put myself through the torture.

I gave blood a few times, but I have such poor blood circulation that it took forever and the nurse had to like massage my arm to get the blood out (and it was painful). Argh - I'm getting nauseus just thinking of it!

I used to give all the time but it's been a few years.
