I just came back from my work blood drive and the number keeps on decreaseing. we must have 600-700 people and only about 50 or so give. back in the day...it used to be 175. it such a good feeling to give to those who need..

I gave blood once, but they put the needle THROUGH my vein and it hurt like hell. Also, because of this, the blood was dripping too slowly to fill up the bag. Apparently they have a rule that you can't have the needle in a person for longer than a certain amount of time. My bag didn't fill up fast enough, so they couldn't even use my blood. All that for nothing. I find the Red Cross to be annoying, especially after 9-11 where they kept asking for blood even though they knew they had no place to store it and had to throw it away anyways.

I give but not on a regular basis... I ALWAYS get so sick! I start out fine then boom...I get very dizzy, pale and nauseous!!!

I gave blood once and had a really bad experience..I almost passed out in the truck...apparently i don't weigh enough...

I give blood every 56 days or whatever it is. Its such a great feeling. You are saving 5 lives each time you do it.....and so many people need blood.

no, i can't - i too am too small - under the weight requirement. last time i lied abut my weight to give blood and it took forever for my blood to come out
