Easy Poll: If you only had...

Original post by MCDO15

one choice for Valentines Day, what would it be?

I was listening to Z-100 this morning and they were talking about presents. Aparently, a survey showed that 60 percent of women want a home made card....

what about you?

with choice of other, not a vacation or a new car but somthing reasonable....

first poll got messed up...

i would want chocolates because that's the traditional valentine's day gift.
when we were younger my siblings and i would always get our parents special boxes of chocolate for valentine's day....so i think i associate it with that.

other - we don't do Valentine's day.

eta: if I did, I would like a card. And not just the one with the pre printed words underlined, something personal.

I put homemade card. Last year he forgot all together. I think a cad would be so sweet, with something mushy written in it I hope. Jewlery would be a very nice gift too. Anything actually. Anthony always forgets

I hate the price gouging for Valentine's day! I got mad at my DH 2 years ago for spending $50 at STOP & SHOP for a dozen roses that died 2 days later

last year he gave me the best gift of all, he gave me the rest of my life to be with him... he proposed

this year, enough jewelry! I would be happy with a nice romantic dinner

ETA: we went grocery shopping tonight and they already have all the V-day candy out

I heard the same thing this morning on Z-100. I was cracking up...

I got a beautiful diamond tennis bracelet for x-mas so I'd be very content with flowers and a card for V-day. I like that kind of stuff for V-day and jewlery for my b-day and x-mas... We go out to dinner every V-day too...

Although last year I got an intersting gift from FH for V-day...

THE FLU!!!

I'm not kidding, but we went out to dinner the first night I finally felt better...

I voted for home made card cause I want to save up for the wedding. But after we are married.... I would probably lean to jewelry

I am going for other. I prefer a candlelight dinner at home, not an overcrowded restaurant where everyone goes, plus my FH is an amazing cook so that helps. But if you are talking about a gift, I always like something creative and personal. Flowers are nice, but overpriced and really can be given anytime, so why now? Do something different, something she would never expect. What is something she loves to do? Her hobbies? Incorporate that into her gift. She'll appreciate that more than flowers (unless of course you never buy her those). Anyway, I am going to stop rambling. Good luck and I'm sure you'll do great!!!

I voted jewelry but that's because I've gotten all the other stuff for V-day befores so if I only had one choice for this year, it would be something I haven't gotten before.

I have to say that of all the things on your poll that I've gotten as v-day gifts, the home made card was definitely my favorite.

I get the chocolate and flowers so Jewelry is my choice.

Re: Easy Poll: If you only had...

I prefer a nice dinner- and some sort of outing, nice homemade cards are wonderful too-
I love flowers- and FH knows this, but I HATE them for valentines day only because I know it costs a fortune and then a day or two later they are back to normal prices... It may be silly but I would rather him spend the money on something different...chocolate is good- but not this year-wedding gown to fit into ...also he doesnt eat chocolate so that leaves me eating the entire box, not good
