Re: Easy Poll: Would you share
I don't know if DH and I would tell anyone - I'd probably tell my parents, but I don't know if his mom can keep a secret. Our parents are well off, but I'd still want to something for them and for our 3 siblings. But it would have to be super top secret because I have a few extended family members who would think that they're entitled to a portion of my winnings (get a job!)

Re: Easy Poll: Would you share
I would buy 3 or 4 homes for FH and I - One in Los Angeles, one in NY, one in Montreal and then maybe a vacation home, if we're feeling greedy. Pay off both of our parents' mortgages, plus get each of them a vacation home somewhere warm. Buy my sis a house, pay off his sisters' homes. Give our nephew a trust fund for college Buy new cars for everyone (except his dad - he gets an MGB and a motorcycle) I don't know if I would give money to my friends directly, I think that's kind of weird, but I would give very, very generous gifts (like cars or vacations or homes) Also, I'd follow my (new) dream and open a bakery.

Re: Easy Poll: Would you share
Our parents and siblings would be taken care of for life right off the bat!!As for friends, yea a few would benefit by generous gifts like a home, car and college for their kids, and maybe a few grand too. And for DH and I, a few homes, our own businesses, buy a lot of investment property, buy a supper huge RV and hire a driver to drive us around the US to see it all. And definitely give to charity. Life would be sweet!!

Both friends and family members would be taken care of. If I am wealthy then there is no way my friends and families should not be.

Re: Easy Poll: Would you share
DH and I have already had extensive conversations about this very topic! It would certainly solve a LOT of our problems! We would have country and city houses in both NY and London. We'd buy his mom a new house and probably buy a house out in the Hamptons or something for my family to use in the summers.
I think both of our brothers are really too proud to accept monetary gifts from us... But we'd certainly be very generous.
Also, my dad's told me it's his dream to have a cabin in upstate NY with a huge great room with cathedral ceilings and have his whole family there for Christmas with a huge tree...so of course he'd get that
ETA: Probably not with friends, though...that's such a slippery slope and I wuoldn't want to offend people. But they'd all be invited to my Puffy-like parties at the house in the Hamptons!

Re: Easy Poll: Would you share
If you won you would have to keep it a very big secret.
I would be meeting with a top notch financial advisor and then take it from there. Ideally, I would like to take care of family and very close friends, but they would come out of the woodwork quickly I suppose if word got out.
I would tell no one and do things very hush hush.

Can I be invited to your Puffy-Like party? I've always wanted to go to one of those!!
Our immediate family would definiately get good chunks- the neices, I would want to give them each a big bunch for college and stuff, then also a trust fund they can't touch till they're in their 30s - so they won't spend it all too soon.
As for friends, I agree, I think it would be weird. I mean, I would feel funny offering my friends a check like that. I think I'd be VERY generous with gifts - but to just give them money, would feel strange to me.
If it were possible, I'd want to not tell anyone - but I think when you collect, you have to let them publish your name and stuff, don't you?

Can you really keep winning the lottery quiet?
I would only share with our parents, although they probably wouldn't accept much. If I started with anyone else, before I knewit i, itwoudl all be gone. I think I would be more generous with gifts & things though for extended family & very close friends.

Puffy-like as in white parties where even your shoes must be white or you remove them before coming in or Puffy-like as in there are tubs where people bathe in Cristal?

Only certain family members and certain friends. I am sure they know who they are.
