My sister just had her baby this Saturday and wanted to be surprised about the results. It was worth the wait as they would just be happy with just having a baby. It was worth while for my sister as she wanted a girl but everything felt like it was boy (where they stayed in belly and the hard kicks)
I would wait. Someone I know once said 'There are so few truly wonderful surprises in life, why would you ruin it?' I think that's so true.
My DH on the other hand, wants to know! Well, we'll have to see when the time comes...

I def want it to be a surprise when I have a baby. I know people say you get everything in yellow and green then, but you also get lots of stuff after the baby is born.

I'd want to wait, unless I knew I was having twins, I'd want to know, b/c coming up with 2 boy names & 2 girl names just in case might be too much!

I was just thinking about this today...who cares if everything is green and yellow!! and who cares about decorating the nursery!!! My feeling is, I will most likely, god-willing, have more than one baby anyway, hopefully we'll have one of each, so having some gender neutral stuff, especially a nursery, is a priority!

Agreed with the so few genuine surprises in life and I would definitely not want to know. After all that pushin, I want there to be a SURPRISE awaiting DH and me. It will be so exciting to have him announce to all the family what it is :)
nowadays, it seems like not wanting to find out is the minority!! Everyone says, 'I can't wait to find out'. 'I hate green and yellow and ducks.' planners :(

its a
other tales tells you if the baby is sitting on a certain side what it is... if the baby is kicking this part of your body, its this... so everybody thought it was a girl. i guess once you beome preggo, you will hear all these stories.
another one ... the baby was born with a full head of hair... when they (family) found out, 1st question was, did you have heartburn. i must of heard that at least 10 times over the weekend.

I couldnt wait, I already had it in my mind that my baby was a boy and I was right. After I found out it made it so much easier to do his nursery and register. Plus I was able to call my baby by his name which made it even more 'real'

I would definitely want to find out, so I can plan everything. Although I think we may not tell family/friends what it will be. We're definitely going to keep the name a secret.

My mom swears by the heartburn tale as it was true for both me and my brother. We had SO much hair when we were born.

She didn't have hair? Or your sister didn't have heartburn???
My cousin was born with a head and a half of hair and my aunt said she didn't have heartburn.
