Easy Poll: would you want to work.....

I like that we have seperate jobs. It is so much easier to seperate the job from the home life. My Sister and BIL worked for my Dad's company for many years. Their home life got much better once my BIL started a new job. I think it is also depends on the type of business you are in. Since it was a family business, egos sometimes got inthe way.
About 2 - 3 days a week, DH and I commute downtown together. That is really nice

We do work together but not really. We're both in the same field - computers - and we work for the same department but in different buildings, in different towns on Long Island. He works in one of our satellite 'offices' and I work on the main 'campus'.

We are rarely required to work in the same building and we can't even commute to work together. On the rare occassion that we are both on the main campus, we don't even have lunch together. It's really not bad at all, the way our jobs are, but if we had to work any closer together than this, I can see it becoming an issue.

I think I could work with DH, but I don't think he could work with me.

no thanks. it makes seeing him at night so much better.

also id think we would get ourselves into trouble getting caught in certain undesirable positions!!!

DH and I used to work in the same bar. I enjoyed it, but we only worked together on a handful of occasions. I would like to spend more time with him, but I don't think that a work situation is how I would like to accomplish it.

I have however always wanted to be in a show with DH. That would be fun!

I also worked in the same bar as my ex husband... we used to actually bartend bars facing each other. Not a good business or scenerio to work in.... We finally both quit because we couldnt take it anymore... fast forward a year and a half later, i am no longer with him and back to bartending again, ALONE!!!

We used to work together (how we met) but two weeks after we started dating I was transferred to a different building... it was nice at times but I could see how it would get old if we lived together as well.

you will get used to working in diff places... and you will DEF get used to the money!!!

We work together now and it is great for us. I understand what you mean, it will be a bit of an adjustment. But think of the oppurtunity she has. A better job with more $$.

We met at work...and continue to work for the same company. We work in different departments.

I see DH in the morning before he leaves and at the end of the day when I stop by to see when he's leaving - he works longer hours than I do.

We have lunch together *maybe* once a month - usually once every month and a half/two months. We drive in together even less...but moreso in the winter.

Works for us.

FH and I used to work together - that's how we met. After we dated for about eight months, I got a promotion and we worked one row over from one another!! We were worried at first that it would be a problem, but it wasn't. In fact, we even lived together AND worked together for three months. I eventually left that company for grad school, and soon after FH left that company for a better job.

We had fun working together - it was great having all kinds of inside jokes about different people in our company. We were very good about behaving professionally in the office. Everyone knew we were dating - in fact, we worked for the same VP!! - but it was never a problem.

I do think it's good that we have two separate things going on now, but FH ever decided to become a teacher I would have no problem working with him once again. He would never teach any of the sciences anyway!!
