Eloping

Eloping

Last night my FH said that he couldn't wait anymore and just wanted to get married tomorrow. While the planning has been sometimes fun and I love my dress, I considered doing it! Has anyone else felt this way?

Even though we are both impatient we really want a church wedding and all that stuff... if our parents found out that we eloped they (esp the mom's) would be heart broken!

FI always says 'Vegas Baby'. I shut him down right away. Now its like a joke. I've been waiting my whole life for the big party, I couldn't do it out of respect for our parents and loved ones.

Yes.... not that i would ever do it cause my mother would kill me ....and its not cause of the planing its cause people can be horrible sometime ...family giving you a hard time and what not
but yes we both have talked about it

we actually had this discussion last night, its so funny you brought up this post. we are thinking about going to get married in the bahamas and just bring our parents a a few close friends. i told me parents, just gotta tell his parents next...lol

My FI says that too, and I feel the same way. We just want to be married, it's not about the people and I love planning! I just want to live out 'every lil girl's dream'. So if we did, which I doubt, we'd prob keep it a secret and still do the big wedding as planned.

FH and I joke about that too but mostly I say lets head to a beach in Mexico! I wish but I have always wanted to wear a Cinderella dress and walk down an aisle

My mother has offered us a 'check and a ladder' MANY times. But I have waited way too long for this to waste it on an Elvis impersonator in Vegas. My brother, howevr, renewed his vows on his first anniversary at the Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas. The ceremony was performed by an Elvis impersonator and was webcast so we could see it at home!

We say that too!! We just look at each other and say, 'Let's go get married now.' We know it's forever and can't wait any longer!! haha

I for one want a big wedding and could never go through with eloping- my aunt did it years ago- when my mom was still little and it broke my grandparent's hearts! As an only child and a girl- my parents would be heatrbroken- it would be terrible... I could NEVER do that to them- plus i want the big wedding too

Mine says that too! But I'm very secretive, so if we do it, we're still going to go thru with the wedding and none of the guests will know (even our parents).

Thats how I would be...it would be between me and FH...we'd still go through with the wedding and no one would know that we've already been married...its like a romanatic secret...hmmm...may have to look into that...

We went to vegas shortly after getting engaged and we were joking that we would just elope and not tell anyone. Also we talk about eloping b/c I don't have health ins and he does so we say we're going to get married and not tell anyone so I can have health ins. But I don't think we'd ever really do it. We're both looking forward to the wedding.

When I get stressed out with some of the planning and from my inlaws I always tell FH lets just go and elope it will save us the $$ and me the aggravation

yea my FH always says it.. he wants to go to vegas on vacation.. I told him no way cause I know what we will end up doing if we go there..

I have some bad days.. when I'm so obsessed and worried about dropping SO MUCH money on one day.. and I cry and tell FH that this is why I just wanted to run off and get hitched! Vegas baby! Would LOVE to do that.... but our families would be so very hurt

hehe.. we went last summer and were going to jokingly take a pic in front of one of the chapels and leave the rest to their imagination! I wish we had!
