I was thinking of buying a desk embosser to stamp envelopes for our STD's and invitations w/our monograms....I can find the desk embosser, but where do I get the metal plates - customized for our monogram?
What about wax seals? Where can I get that done/??

you can do your wax seals yourself. I bought my supplies through Faux Wax.com

If you get the wax seals, I recommend the faux version, the real ones fall off in the mail process.

I think every bride should have an embosser. I had one made up and I used it on so many things. And if you are keeping your name, you can even use it after the wedding. (I had another one made up to use for our social stuff where I use his last name)
Depending on how custom you want it, you can have the basic ones done at most stationary shops. Staples might even be able to get them for you.
If you already have the embosser, make sure to order the right size plate. There are several diferent ones that looks similiar.
I used colored hot glue for my seals.

Me, too! I just finished all of our invitations last night and it was sooooo much easier than I thought it would be! Hey, if you want black wax and a heart seal for free...let me know!:)

this is probably a stupid question but do u still like the envelopes to seal them? I was thinking of using something like this from Michaels
Went to the faux wax site - thank you! It was very informative. I think I'm going to go more with the embosser...less work and less mess! However, I'm loving the wax...LOL. Thanks so much girls!

I did wax seals on some of the envelopes and it was getting very tedious...you have to have patience to do it. But it looks so pretty!!
Definitely lick the envelopes first. In case they are not hand sorted at your post office you would not want the ends to come and and have the envelope tear in the sorter.

I double sided tape mine shut. They opened so nice. And it was easy.
