Embracing The Inner Curl

Original post by MonkeyLuv

Well, at least I'm tentatively patting it on the back.

I'm giving the Redken Fresh Curls line a whirl. So far I like it. It doesn't make my hair smell musty and it's light.

If I'm not in tears by noon then this experiment will have been a rousing success.

I have straight hair too. Not quite pin straight. Unless you mean the straight pins from the drycleaning that fall to the floor & get imbedded in the carpet & you step on them & the get a weird bend in them. Those are the pins my hair resembles.

This is hands-down the funniest thing I have read today!

ETS: Egads! Is it 'most funny'?? Oh, I hope the grammar police aren't afoot...

I'm so sad that I have pin straight hair - i've never had Triangle Head.....or Frizz Head....

Oh please! Cry me river!! Do you know what I have done to get straight hair?? I have used flat irons, hours under a blowdryer... I have taken a hot clothing iron to my head!! Do you hear that?? A HOT CLOTHING IRON TO MY HEAD!!!

I would trade heads with you anyday!

Hey now!!!
Do you know what I have to do to get my hair curly????
have you ever stood for 3 hours, holding a curling iron to your head, with the hair pinned up in various spots, some curled, some not, while your roomates surrounded you, taking pictures of the mess you call hair, while laughing and pointing?

Have you ever tried to speed the process of curling your hair by placing the hair in rollers, spraying product on it, and then blow drying it - only to hold the blow dryer too close to your hair and BURN the hair on your head.....right in front of your head, only to find that burned hair doesn't smell so good ?

I wish I had curly hair.....I get out of the shower and look like a wet dog - you curly-haired luckies walk out and look like models....

Imagine if we could do that. . .

Two-bugs--thanks , its nice to bringthe funny every once in a while

Pale bride- it seesm we have similar hair. At ermy stylist today blowed ry myhair after it was already dry , I had staic of science experiment proportions when I returned to work. A little hand lotion tamed it, but you have to make sure it is very little-rub it into your hands first.

I get CRAZY knots--I pretty much had an unintentional dreadlock I couldn't deal with until they cut it off today.

ETA- WARNING --this is gross- but you what actually mad emy hair look good? Blood.
I hit my head & at the hospital they dumped water on me to rinse the blood, it sort of spread thoughout my hair & then dried and when I went outside I saw my reflection in a window & I had cool texured wavy hair, with a reddish tint-- a bit smelly & crunchy though

Palebride... it's like you're the YIN to my YANG!!!

I too had roommates who took pictures of me ironing my hair, I too know the stench of blackened hair, I too know the awkward arm positions for clipping various pieces of hair all over my head!

And I have always been envious of you wash-and-go goddesses, while I'm tethered to either tons of hair products or a blow dryer!!

Do they really exist?

I wash & then detangle, volumize, section, blow dry, part, brush, smooth, spray & go. ( On a work day, not even a special occasion)

Can I call you Yang now?

Don't you love those who mock you as you try to alter the natural state of your hair??????
Grrrrrrrr.

And I have to say - I thought the smell of burned hair was gross....but the thought of someone putting blood in their hair and finding it to be helpful grosses me out more.....Who knew?

I'm a wash-and-goer. I'm also on a high-poo regimen. I defy the curly girl stereotype, but this is probably why my hair always looks like complete @ss...

I have mastered the art of the ponytail to avoid really doing my hair in the morning......I just can't find the required 30 minutes to get it to dry.......

I didn't put it in my hair. My hair just happend to be attahced to my head which I happened to crack open on an ice rink.

And well, I did think it looked good, but keep in mind, I had just hit my head. . .

But you have to admit you thought...'Hey, Maybe I should bloody my hair more often to get this look..... '

My friend once got hit in the head with a hammer, and the blood didn't do anything for her hair.....so maybe it was just a fluke.....or maybe it was the head injury

She must have been missing the important ICE part of formula , and no, I didn't think I should bloody my heady more often, I just wonder if there was anything more normal I could use to replicate the effect.
