Ok my FH is telling me will cut the list...I really love the Snapper, its so perfect for us!! But where do you start?? What are the normal percent of people that do not show??
If I invite 195 do you think I can count on at least 15 not showing??
Thanks everyone for all your help, I'll still be calling other places tomorrow! You are all wonderful!
The normal amount of people not showing is 20%. We're inviting 125 and are expecting 90 to show up on the day of...

DEFINITELY try The Woodlands. With a party that big, they are very negotiable with price. I had a party of 200 and they were willing to go down in price because of the size of the wedding.
The Woodlands is beautiful and we did look there...but something happened at a wedding there that turned us off.

Re: EMERGENCY!!
Ok....I'm over my panic attack...I was literally throwing up all night!!
My FH and I decided to leave all as is. We cut the list to 195 and are gonna keep our fingers crossed that 15 don't show!! I know its risky but I can't find another place I love as much on such short notice! We are going to try to cut it more!
Heres a question....what are you all doing about parents' friends?? If you are paying yourself, can't they be cut?? Especially when you don't know them?
Thanks again everyone for all your help....I really appreciate it!

Whether you or your parents are paying for the wedding, I would talk to them about cutting the 'friends' list a bit. Explain the situation and hopefully they'll understand. If everyone sits down and tries to cut from the list together, it may work out.
I would be careful about hoping that some of your guests don't show. I've heard that 15-20% don't show, but then read a post the other day of a bride who said 99% of her guest replied YES. Ouch.
If you need to find another RH. Keep calling around. If the date is available, you have 2 things working for you...short notice, and party size. RHs LOVE to book their dates, and LOVE a large party. You will definately have room to negotiate on the price, if in this situation.
Hopefully it will all work out. Good luck

In my case, we are paying for the wedding ourselves, so I was very specific with my parents' friends. If i haven't seen them or heard of them ever, no thank you - sorry. If they have been involved in my life, they're coming. My FH's mom freaked out with that - why can't i invite so & so. my FH looked her in the eye and said I haven't met this person - that's why. She looked at my parents' list and asked, why these people then? He looked her in the eye again and said - we saw less than a month ago...boy did that shut her up!!!
Its hard and everything needs to be dealt with. Once you are over this - you should be FINE!!!!
GOOD LUCK!!!

I have this problem BIG TIME. Me and FH are paying for the hall, my parents are paying for everything else, and FIL are paying for... NOTHING... So when they mentioned they needed to invite over 60 friends that FH never met i told them only if they pay for their heads. They agreed so thats what were doing. If they didnt agree to pay for their guests I was going to cut their friends.

you should just call alll the places. i'm sure they will give you a really good deal b/c it's so last minute!!!!!! Even try the ritzy manhattan ones. you'll be surprised how low they will go to just book the hall.
I agree, call around, when I was doing my search over a year ago for a place, lots of places were willing to give prices and availability over the phone, no offense, but they don't want you to waste there time either, especially if they can't accommodate you. GL did you have invites printed already?

If you are still looking the Bridgeview Yacht Club is well under $150 pp and can accomodate 400 people so you can keep your full guest list. It's gorgeous, on the water, and the food is amazing. Give Kathy a call tomorrow 516-432-2400. Good luck!
