I would honestly be very upset... at someone elses wedding is no place to pop the question in my opinion. Even if someone asked me for permission I would tell them I would prefer if they didn't.
ITA Neither the time nor the place, save your special day for a time thats solely YOURS, don't infringe on someone elses day!

Funny you ask that. FH and I think someone is going to get engaged during our reception since it's going to be on a yacht. He thinks it's one of his friends. I already started saying in front of everyone 'No engagements on the day of my wedding'lol
He sort of had a smirk on his face so I had to say 'Im not kidding'
I will be so upset if this happens. All eyes should be on FH and I.

Well-said. I have heard of this, but who actually does this? It is downright dumb. I would be so mad if someone did this to us. It would be completely selfish to do this to a couple on their wedding day. It is the one day when all focus is supposed to be on two people alone. Let people have their day! I think if FH had proposed at someone's wedding, I'd say, 'No, try again.' He would never have done that!

I am trying to be the bigger person but NO WAY! I would have been p'd off. There is a time and place for everything and someone's wedding is about them not a newly engaged couple. I can just picture everyone running to them to congratulate instead of paying attention to my wedding.

I agree...it seems kind of selfish on the guy's part to plan to do this during someone else's wedding day. There are plenty of other places and times that he could do this and not interrupt someone else's wedding day....

THE NERVE. I WOULD BE SO MAD. He would have to pay me a significant amount of money because weddings are not cheap and he is basically trying to get a 'special engagement for his lady'on my tap. don't mean to be mean but NEVER...
