I would honestly be very upset... at someone elses wedding is no place to pop the question in my opinion. Even if someone asked me for permission I would tell them I would prefer if they didn't.

Maybe if it was my sister (which I don't have one) and it was the end of the night? Like the perfect finale?

But aside from that, I'm pretty sure I'd throw down in my wedding dress, hahahah

I don't know. I don't think I'd care only for the fact that 1) I'd be too wasted to tell and 2) I don't think anyone could steal my thunder... But seriously. Why would someone want to do that at someones' wedding???? Be more creative than that!

Oh no. I would be SO pissed.

FH and I used to joke about getting engaged at my HUGE BRIDEZILLA friend's wedding, just to piss her off (she was being incredibly controlling and self-absorbed) ... heh ... luckily we got engaged about 4 months prior to that so the temptation was gone!

I think this is a tough situation! Maybe it depends on if they asked for permission before hand, or how close you are to the couple... I personally don't know how I would feel!

Um, I'd be freaking pissed. Does this question come from actual events, or just a random hypothetical you came up with? I'm intrigued and it's something that's never even crossed my mind.....

I think its 100% inappropriate....someone else's wedding is not the place to turn the attention from the new couple to you and your proposal.....
If someone asked me if they could I would say I rather they not, and if the did it as a surprise, i would be VERY insulted and upset.

I think I would be a little upset... I also think that is the WRONG time to propose to someone and if I was the girl getting engaged I would ne annoyed as S&@t if my bf proposed to me at someone else's wedding but that's just me!

I wouldnt be happy about it at all. Its not the right time or place. Plus I wouldnt want to get engaged at someones wedding. Its something special that shouldnt rain on someone elses parade. I say its a no go all around

YES I know a real life scenario! my FH and I were at a party and the newly engaged girl and the bride were both there. As the newly engaged girl told the story of how her FH proposed, the look on the brides face said it ALL ...she did NOT look thrilled! the worst part is, the newly engaged chick was so oblivious she was just happy to be engaged!

Selfishly I would have to agree with the ladies who feel it is inappropriate!. A wedding isnt the place to get engaged!

That was totally my QOTD a few days ago...and my answer hasn't changed! Take the girls head, and willingly sacrifice the cake to put her into it. I don't care that it's TECHNICALLY the guy that should go into the cake...the girl gets the cake, the guy gets the cake server in his cujones.
