Engagement Gift for Finace?

Anyone do the above? I was thinking of it and had friends that bought thier fiance a movado or something of the sort... but I know he wouldn't want one.....

He spent a small fortune on my and wants me to save my money so maybe one day in the next million years we can afford a house.

So now I am thinking about taking him for a little getaway over the summer. He has a stressful job and hopefully would enjoy it..... any other suggestions???? I really wanted to give something he would have forever but nothing comes to mind.... (I also love going away so I guess that a short trip would benefit me too... haha!)

I gave this beautiful gold & diamond bracelet. He was shocked and loved it. It was such a nice personal gift and I love when he wears it. I would def go with something sentimental.

I bought him an ESQ watch.....and then he made me buy the girls version...so now we have his & hers watches!

I was going to buy him a gift, but when we got engaged he was out of work on disability, so that was shock enough for me , and I was paying both of our bills, and he said not to buy him a gift..but I'm going to buy him an extra nice wedding gift and tell him not to buy me one...

I have a question for the girls who bought their FH's engagement gifts...are you giving them a gift for the wedding too? I feel bad thinking about it. I want to get my FH a Movado but was planning on waiting till the wedding. It's so far off though.

My wedding gift will be 'ME' But I intend on getting him a nice bottle of colonge to wear that day, so that will be a small gift from me to him on our wedding day.

My guy wanted something for his computer. I gave him my credit card and told him to get what he wanted. He was very happy with that. It may seem impersonal to not get it for him, but i would have bought the wrong thing. He was MUCH happier going to the store himself.

I completely understand. FH didn't want anything either but I did get him the movado he wanted - it was a Birthday/Engagement gift.

I like the idea of cufflinks or something that he can use on the wedding day. It's still personal and I think he might like the idea since it's not so much a splurge but a necessary and thoughful gift.

i couldn't do the movade because i bought him that a couple of years ago for a bday gift... should have listened to my mom...she said wait till we get engaged hahah
