Anyone else having an engagement party? We're just having close family and friends out at one of the vineyards. We're having it January 5th, so it's not too close to my shower or wedding date. Curious if anyone else had one?

We had a VERY casual one. It was a luau theme.....we had a blast!!! There was about 70 people......we asked for NO presents.....but some guests still brought wine..... ;)
We just wanted to keep it very LOW KEY and casual!
Have fun at your party!!!!
We got engaged Dec. 15th and had our eparty in August.......

I had an Engagement party last Jan. It was almost 3 months after we were engaged and now we are getting married in May of 2007.
The vineyards sounds like such a nice idea. You'll have a nice time!

we had one!! we got engaged dec 05 and had our e-party june of 06 and are getting married august 07.

Thanks for the replies! Actually, we originally were supposed to have it in April, but his sister, from Italy, surprised everyone and came to visit with her family. We decided to have it while she's here. We won't see her again til our wedding. She's here til January 9th, so January 5th worked out perfectly.
We know the owner of the vineyard, so they're letting us use it for free, which was a nice price for us!! LOL He has a friend that owns a pizzeria too, so they're catering it. It's going to be a great night! I can't wait! Just a nice get together, nothing fancy!

We had one last January. I wanted to have close to when we actually got engaged since I knew that our engagement would be 2 years long. We rented out a K of C hall and our families cooked. It was actually a lot of fun and we got a ton of stuff off our registries- everyone was so generous. The party was low key with a lot of food and alcohol so everyone had a really good time.

We arent having one....and with the wedding so close I cant do it now, but I almost wish we did have one
We had a casual engagement party at my fil's house. We got engaged in feburary and our e-party was in may.

I had mine Nov. 26th close family and friends, we had a great time and made some $$$ which is mighty helpful. It was also 3 months after our engagement. Have a fantastic time!!!

We had an Engagement party over the summer in FH's backyard. Just had it catered in, got a tent, and of course a bartender. It was worth it, plus... we got sooo many gifts.

We had ours 7.1.06. [was engaged 4.14.06] And our wedding is on 7.13.07! We had a backyard party with about 100 people!!! It was fantastic! And I had the STDs made and handed them out to the guests!

Hi There!
We had an engagement party at a really nice catering hall/restaurant called Pompei. We had 105 guests! It was like a mini wedding, lol!!! I had such an amazing time, and everyone who went said they had a blast! I am so glad that we did it. It was a nice excuse to get all dressed up and celebrate our engagement!
We were engaged June 17, 2006, Engagement party was Oct 21, '06! Loved it!
I would recommend having an engagement party, even if it is a small affair of just close family and friends, or a grand affair of 200, your engagement is worth celebrating!
