I had always thought that was something that you and your FH would host but ours was actually a surprise that my MOH put together. It was really great that it was a surprise and we had no idea about it.

I don't know about traditionally since I NEVER do anything traditionally but my mom & stepfather hosted our e-party at their home. Alot of people brought things and it was great!!!

I am not sure if this is hte 'correct' thing to do, but my FH and I hosted our own, but we kept it small (40 guests, all family) and referred to it a family thing

His parents offered to host it, but we declined

My sister - MOH - (with the help of mom & dad) put together a surprise BBQ for us this past summer with all of our family and friends. It was so great!!!!

Thanks guys, not sure if we will do one or not, maybe just a big dinner so folks could meet and all... they haven't met yet ;-)

Our e-party was just a bbq at my moms. Only about 25 people with mostly family and a few close friends. It was at the party that our families met for the first time. We had been together for 3 years.

yeah, if it were summer I am sure that FH parents would offer to have a BBQ at their house. Hmm I wonder what we could do this time of year without spending oodles of cash..
