Is everyone having (had) one? We are not. I have received gifts though from family and friends. Mostly Fortunoff gift cards. I have so many I do not know what to do with them..

We had one, his family kept asking about it, and we figured it was a good way to spread the word of the engagement.
Granted it was about 9 months after the engagement lol, but it was a blast

we had one almost 7 months after we got engaged. be set up a registry before and got some stuff off that, but mainly cash and gift cards. it was jsut reallly nice to celebrate it with our family and friends in a less formal way

I had a small BBQ with some friends, but it wasn't an engagement party. We received some gifts though. We'll probably register soon... we're trying to move our date up a bit if we can. Once we get that straightened out, we'll register.

We decided against one. We are not having a bridal party (not even MOH or BM) so my mother will have to foot the expense of the bridal shower herself. Figured I wouldn't make her throw 2 parties.

We just had ours on July 12th and it was a blast, but it was also a great way for the families to meet. My parents and his parents have met several times prior to the party, but it gave my parents a chance to meet all his extended family and it was an excuse to PARTY, LOL:)
