Engagement Party

Anysuggestions for a place to hold the engagement party? How long after your engagement should it be held?

I got engaged in September and my mom & step dad threw my e-party on December 1st. It was at a rec center with about 30 people---just bridal party and immediate family.

it depends on where. I got engaged in sept and had an engagement party in november. we had about 30-40 people, close family and friends.

We got engaged Sept 13, and our e-party is August 9.

we're having between 100 - 125

I don't think it matters so much how long after you were engaged that the party is...but how close to the wedding...

we had our e-party 1 year(exactly) before the wedding...which was about 4 months after we were engaged

my sister had hers 2 months after engagement...but less than 6 months from the wedding...I think thats a lot to ask from people...but who am I to say anything?

both were done at my moms house...but check out some less expensive halls and you can do a cocktail party...only cocktails and hordourves

we're just going to have a small bbq with close friends and family over the summer. Mainly just for the parents and BP to get together again.

we got engaged in may 2002 and our e-party was july 2002 (wedding is october 2003). i originally wanted a casual BBQ, but the list grew too big for that, so we ended up at our favorite mexican restaurant.

We got engaged April 4, 2002 and the e-party was April 18, 2003. The wedding is March 5, 2004.
Its really all up to you on when you plan on doing it. We had about 80 people at the e-party. My family is huge.

We got engaged on June 7, 2002 and had our e-party, August 9, 2002 and am getting married August 9, 2003. We had 200 people at the Fox Hollow..

We got engaged August 11th 2002 and the engagment party was September 22, 2002. Like one month later. I always wanted a backyard engagment party. It was about 80 people, food catered, rented tent and chairs. Worked out soooooo nice We did the engagment party early, while there was still nice weather.

If you know someone who owns a condo...They usually have a room which they will let you rent out (near the rec center) Or there are some reasonable resturants that have seperate rooms for parties.

We got engaged April 30th this year. We're getting married April 17th 2004. We may have a small party this summer. But we may not.

We got engaged in January, and are getting married in January 2004. We are having the e-party next Sunday, but we had to wait for FH's parents to come up from Florida. I think it's cutting it close, but other people tell me it's no big deal, soooooooooo....
edited to say, we are having a bbq at the park and it will be about 60 people

Our engagement party is being held 1 year and 3 months after our engagement (I've been away at college) and it will be at the Huntington Hilton.

I got engaged Dec 23, 2002 and had our E-party on March 23, 2003 @ Michael's in West Sayville. Our wedding date was set by Feburary for Dec 3, 2004 @ the Riviera. Congrates on the
