Hey girls, I'm trying to find a spot for my engagement party. I figure I will have around 60 people. I really don't want to spend too much money though. It's a recession! Any suggestions?

Unfortunately I know very little about Suffolk county. But my suggestion would be to look at restaurants that have good food and maybe pre-fixe menus.
I think there maybe a Ciao Baby in Suffolk county (Commack?). They have about 3 or 4 locations on LI. I had my engagement party there for 55 people at the place in Carle Place. FM me and I can give you more details on price. It was really UNBELIEVABLE!!! And the food there is great!!!! Also did invites and decor myself, so the party was budget-friendly, but you wouldnt have guessed
On another note, I recently planned my parent's anniversary party in a private room at a delicious italian restaurant in manhattan for $35pp.
So finding good prices at restaurants is totally do-able!

Try a local VFW/Hibernian...thats where we had ours and it was very affordable

we had ours at the Marconi manor. it wasnt expensive. we had over 100 people... so 60 would be fine.
