I have a few questions, my engagement party is at the end of March.1. Anyone have any DJ suggestions looking to keep it $500 and under
2. Do you have to a do a favor? If so any budget friendly suggestions?
3. Should you register for the engagement party?
Thank you all in advance! Been so overwhelmed with this engagement party stuff, a little more work then I expected

Engagement Party Questions
I registered for my engagement party, but only after I received a few unreturnable gifts from friends of my parents that were not at all anything FH and I would ever use. We made sure to keep the prices of the things we registered for reasonable, with the intention of adding more once we picked a date. It worked out really well.I made my favors. I made about 300 cake pops (using boxed cake mix), and bought little candy bags, stickers (which I printed our names, the date, and a picture of rings), and ribbon and my cousin and I packaged them all ourselves. They were a big hit, and my friends are all still talking about how delicious they were. I couldn't afford, nor did I want to spend the money on, expensive favors, and I didn't want to give out some cheap little chotchki that no one would ever look twice at. It was also something personal because I love to bake.
We didn't use a DJ, we had a brunch and the restaurant we held it at had an iPod with Pandora, which we just put to a station we liked.
If you need any more help, FM me. I planned and organized my entire engagement party myself (with the help of a few friends). Invitations, flowers, favors, thank you cards, registering, etc. I'm more than happy to send pics too.

1. We did not have a DJ, we are doing a luncheon, So I can't help you there.
2. Our party is Jan 12. I made hot chocolate cones, with chocolate chips, and marshmellows. The came out super cute & were cost effective. We are also doing a small candy bar to go along with it. I would check out pinterest they have a lot of cute ideas on there. Are you having a theme? That may help you come up with an idea for a favor.
3. We did not register before our Engagement party. Basically because of time during the holidays & becuase we haven't even thought about what we want or patterns or anything like that. Also I secretely am hoping we get cash as gifts rather then things I'll have to store for a year & a half.

Engagement Party Questions
1. We had our engagement party at a restaurant so we didn't do a DJ.2. We bought cute little boxes with a see through heart cut out and added pink and red m&m's with a personalized heart ribbon and personalized sticker as the favor.
3.We registered prior to the engagement party and actually got a bunch of stuff from our registry!

Engagement Party Questions
We had a backyard BBQ so no djWe didn't do favors and I definitely don't think they're neccessary.
We did not register but told people who asked that they shouldn't bring gifts and just have a good time. We did get gifts, but they were mostly cash and gift cards which were more what we would have wanted anyway.
