Engagement photos

When should we take these? We booked Patken in October and the wedding is in August????

Depends on what sort of photos you want - if you want beach photos, go in the summer but if you want winter photos, go now.

You can take them whenever you want really...the closer to your engagment the better. It really doesn't make much sense to take them close to the wedding.

I took them 11/30 (2 weeks agoo) and my wedding is 09/26/03.

Hehe..I took mine about a month before my wedding. I just never got around to them and I had my photographer booked for over a year. I just didn't need them for really any reason but to have nice photos. I am glad I took them because it gave me a feel for being in front of the camera and my photographer's style.

We actually just took our engagement photos about 2 weeks ago... just slipped out minds... we ended up taking them at Long Beach. I am kind of glad we took them in the winter time... no people on the beach to get in the photo...

But i don't think that there is any specific time when you are supposed to get them taken.

Thanks! I thought the girl said you take the photos in the studio?? Is it more expensive to take them at a location?

Betty, take them in May or so when the weather is nicer. Do outdoors, like I did.

Yes they are proofs, I have about 12 of them.
Yes they charge more to go to a beach or a park, we did them outside their office? You can't even tell!

Did they charge you for outside the office? Did they suggest it or did you? WHich office did you go to? I really don't want to pay extra (if it's a lot) b/c I dont really know what we will do with these photos and I'd rather spend the $$ elsewhere.

We were at my FMIL's house in the Hamptons the week we took them on vacation, so we went to the Smithtown office which was the closest for us.
They do not charge for pics. Steve recommend there for us also.
