engagement photos - wardrobe change?

we're going to boston Friday and our engagement photos are being taken on saturday!! i'm so excited!!

for those of you who have already taken them, did you do a wardrobe change? initially, i had wanted to do one, but then i bought a really expensive skirt at anthro that i fell in love with. i'm in love with the outfit i've created around it, and i just feel like the other dress i bought (white) will just pale in comparison. do you think it's fine to wear the same outfit for the duration of the shoot? (we're doing about 3 hours all over the city ...)

i am thinking i will regret it more if i change out of the outfit, but am interested to hear about other's experiences.

I wore a beautiful floral maxi dress for half of our shoot and was very apprehensive to change into my less fancy outfit of black jeggins, a chambray top and boots. Thank god I did!! The maxi dress ended up looking like a maternity dress and the plain jane outfit was much more flattering. It was also nice to have a lot of variety looking through all of the photos

I did not do an outfit change, but then, our shoot was only an hour. Haven't gotten back the pics yet, so not sure how they came out. I considered an outfit change, but then I got lazy and couldn't figure out what to wear lol.

My engagement shoot was in NYC (3 hours and 2 locations) and I did an outfit change. First was a dress and heels, then I changed into a fancy top with shorts and wedges. I wanted the variety in my photos. I think it's totally fine to keep your outfit you love so much for the whole shoot. Maybe bring your white dress and decide that day if you want to change into it?

The only outfit change I did was accessories.... what about a shoe change? from heels to flats? add jewelry, put your hair up, throw a cardigan on etc. Something that you won't have to change the skirt for, but you can have a different look?

Just an idea!!

We did a change and I'm glad we did. I initially was so excited for our 'nicer' outfits, but my favorite pictures ended up being the casual pictures of us in our football jerseys literally wrestling each other. But do what you feel comfortable doing. I did have to get in the parking lot of a beach with FH holding a blanket around me! Lol

You definitely don't have to do one. We did because they told us that when they make our save the date, they use more than one picture and I didn't want all the pictures to be of us in the same clothes. I wore a teal sundress, a floral maxi dress and then we took pictures in Giants jerseys. FH only changed once - I think that if you LOVE your outfit you should just stay in that one outfit rather than risk ruining your pictures wearing something you don't love.

I agree with changing shoes and accessories. Do what makes you happy, I often fall in love with clothing so I understand

i think i may do this. i can definitely switch up my shoes no problem.

i think i'll also bring along the change of outfit just in case like suggested above ... then i can just make a game time decision.

Being an outfit just in case and if you don't use it, no harm done

I just took my engagement pictures, and I did not do an outfit change. I really loved the outfits FH and I wore, and we wanted to keep it simple. it wasn't too much of a concern for me.

Re: engagement photos - wardrobe change?

We did an outfit change at the photographers recommendation. That was fine by us.

Re: engagement photos - wardrobe change?

We did twice. We did photos outside of Citi Field with Mets shirts, our last name, and a 10 for him and a 3 for me. Inside Citi Field I wore a dress (how often do you wear a dress on a field) and when we went to Glen Island Park I wore a black dress. I liked how it looked like 3 different days and gave us tons of different photos to pick from!

it's this one in blue motif! i'm wearing it more high waisted, and it's much more structured than in this photo. :)
