Diamondgrl...I thought platinum was the hardest metal? The most durable? Am I wrong here?
My ering is a diamond solitaire in a four prong basket setting (sits low, almost flush) with sapphire solitaires on either side. I have heard it described as a 'boston setting' several times. I take it off every night and rarely shower in it. The other day I was in a huge rush for work, and totally exhausted from lack of sleep and I forgot my ring at home! I freaked out and called FH and made him dig through the jewelry box to make sure it was there (and I hadn't dropped it on the subway). I also made him bring it to me in the city

I beleive that it is considered durable b/c
if you bang a platnium ring, tiny flecks of platnium wont flake off...they ring will only
deform slightly...

I never take mine off and was upset when I had to take itoff for surgery. I only ever take it off to clean it.

I just know if I took it off I would lose it and the safest place is on my finger ..

I ALWAYS wear mine. I haven't had a problem sleeping with it yet ( I have the high setting). I usually forget that it is on.

liz, yes its ok to clean your ring whenever you like in jewlery cleaner. i do mine evry 3 days.

I wasnt at first taking my ring off for anything, I also wear gloves on and off all day and wash my hands alot. Needless to say my diamond came out!!

Luckily I found it and i did have the setting lowered a bit and got it insured but now I turn the ring upside down and am very careful with the gloves, I take it off to shower as well, and I have a dishwasher but if I didnt I would take it off for that too.

Thanks btw to diamond girl I am sure some expert advice was needed by alot of people on here
